Blood Drive

Not a funny episode with the exception of the cold opening with the "Aaaaaaaaaaaa's" gag and the Epilogue with Stanley and Creed. It was just...meh. Not much happened other than Michael throwing a Valentine's Day mixer for everyone in the Office to meet new people. Jim and Pam went on a lunch date with Phyllis and Bob Vance. Like I said, not much to find here in this episode.

Golden Ticket

Golden Ticket is an awesome episode based on the idea from Willy Wonka when Michael decides he wants to to a promotion for Dunder Mifflin. But this being The Office, things don't play out the way they should. I knew that as soon as the one customer announced they had one Golden Ticket that they would end up getting all 5 of them. That's 50% from their biggest client. Sure enough, Michael doesn't want to take the fall for losing money for the company and sets about getting Dwight to claim responsibility. And wouldn't you know it that when David Wallace comes to the branch, he is there to congratulate Dwight on a job well done. Watching Michael trying to reclaim the idea as his own was hilarious!!

Also funny was watching Jim, Pam and Andy giving Kevin dating advice. The KGB joke was pretty good as well.

New Boss

After the disaster of the last episode and David Wallace seeing first hand how things are run at Dunder Mifflin, you knew that changes were coming. It didn't take long for that to happen. This sees the arrival of Charles Miner (Idris Elba) who will be working as a liason between Michael and David. That's not what it really is. It's basically putting him in charge to run things with Michael there in name only, with no authority. Well, when push comes to shove, people quite, which is what Michael does.

I can relate to this episode very well. I may have never been a manager, but I've worked for corporations where they send in a new Boss who just makes whole sale changes for the sake of justifying their paycheck. They don't even try to see what the working environment is like or the personnel. Has changing things like this ever worked? Exactly.

Two Weeks

Two Weeks is exactly what it sounds like. Michael spends the final weeks at Dunder Mifflin doing nothing. But then as it gets closer and closer to his last day he comes up with the brilliant idea of starting his own paper company and then sets out to lure his former employees to join him on his quest. In the end, the only one that takes him up on his offer is Pam. It's great on a TV show, but there is no one dumb enough to throw away a paying job with benefits for something that hasn't even been thought out to completion yet. Bold move on Pam's part indeed.

Dream Team

Awesome episode. There is something really cool about watching Michael and Pam moving head on and tackle their fear of the unknown. It's scary to start a new business and that's going to be something a lot of people can relate to. I think that's why I respond to this episode on a personal level, watching Michael second guess himself at the beginning and then finally taking ownership of the situation when Pam starts to have her breakdown, full of doubts. Really cool to see. Also, it was funny that Michael would have to head to the bowling alley to find Ryan to add him to the Dream Team. How the mighty have fallen..............

The soccer game or more specifically the kick to Phyllis' face looked painful. It was just like the episode where Meredith got hit in the face with the football. Funny in both cases. The cherry on top for this episode is at the end when it's revealed that the Michael Scott Paper Company home base of operations is back at the warehouse....the same place as Dunder Mifflin. Priceless!!

Michael Scott Paper Company

I had completely forgotten that this episode had the first appearance from Erin (Ellie Kemper). Not sure how I would forget that since they obviously needed a new receptionist to replace Pam. The best part of this episode was the fact that Dwight and Andy are now "best buds". But that's not gonna last long, especially after their EPIC "Guitar Duel" in the break room to impress Erin. Love the quote by Wayne Gretzky that Michael re-quoted as his own. Hahahahahaha.

Heavy Competition

Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome episode!!!! So damn funny!!! Hilarious!!!! It's just too bad this wasn't an hour long episode or even a super-sized episode. If there was ever a reason for one, it's Heavy Competition for sure. The battle for clients has begun with Michael looking to take on Dwight and nab his most prized client, one that can make or break the Michael Scott Paper Company. Loved the prank that Jim plays on Andy. Best sight gag comes at the end when Michael answers the phone with a mouthful of Cheese puffs and answers the phone. The reaction of Pam and Ryan was awesome as they couldn't stay in character as they began to laugh.

Broke

This episode has one of THE most satisfying scenes ever for this series. Every time I watch this episode, more specifically the scene in question, I get giddy with excitement watching Michael bluff his way into a million dollar buy-out. The way he cons David Wallace to agreeing to give Michael, Pam and Ryan their old jobs with medical and dental was just exhilarating to see. It was awesome!! Props to Michael for also getting Charles Miner fired from the Scranton Branch. Wheeeeee!!!!

And let's not forget Dwight's suggestion of how to defeat Michael. With Bee's. Hives. Kidnapping the Queen Bee. Hahaha. Man how I wish we were still getting episodes....writing like this now. This is when they were at the top of their game in everything they did on The Office. As for this season and now this episode, all is right in the world of Dunder Mifflin.

Casual Friday

The funniest thing about this episode is that Meredith's idea of Casual Friday is going commando and wearing a dress that doesn't cover up any of her naughty bits. Just picturing it makes me crack up now. But the main plot of this episode is the mutiny that is forming with the employees that are  p i s s e d  off that Michael hasn't returned the clients they stole from them that Pam and Ryan now have. All in all, it was just great to have the entire gang back together under one roof again. The most memorable part of this one happens within the first 2 minutes of the episode where Kevin drops his homemade chili in the Office and then tries to get it all back into the tub.

Cafe Disco

What a fun episode. The entire "plot" here is that Michael wants to use his old Michael Scott Paper Company office as a Cafe Disco for everyone to unwind and relax in. Of course no one is receptive to this idea and it's all but history. That is until Erin and Kelly decide to just cut loose. Suddenly, one by one, everyone begins to pour in until it's a happening spot. It's all dancing all the time. Like I said, a very fun and entertaining episode, so much so that I think I will watch the episode again after I wrap up Season 5 here.

Loved the cold opening with Dwight paying Erin to pretend that she won an art contest to get back at Pam. Priceless.

Company Picnic

I love the episode but I have always been disappointed that this wasn't an hour long episode. There was so much material to play with, especially with the return of Holly. There is just something so cool about seeing Holly and Michael together. When he is just staring at her while she is sitting beside him, that look says it all. He knows she is the 'one' and we all expect him to plead his case to her in why they belong together at some point in the episode. But that moment never arrives. I may always knock Michael for being so delusional in the reality that he creates for himself, but there is a moment toward the end when he is talking to the camera about how he knows they will end up together and that this is just part of the story that they will tell one day. There is something very soothing about that and I can't knock him for it at all.

The volleyball game was good, especially Dwight's stall tactic to give Jim and Pam time to get back from the hospital. But that becomes a moot point for them when they learn that she is pregnant. I love how they reveal this information to the viewer. No sound whatsoever. We are left to fill in the blanks and it works.
