The Office - The Complete BBC Collection (Season 1 & 2 and Xmas Special - 2001-2003)

I am 99.99% positive that I had already done a review for The Office - The Complete BBC Collection as it would have preceded my American remake The Office Marathon a while back But for the life of me I can't find it anywhere at all, which is baffling. I will keep this review short and just merge with the other one when I find it. As for Ricky Gervais' The Office, no matter how many times I have watched this, it's still very uncomfortable watching a grown man constantly looking for approval and validation from others. The main story for me as always been Tim and Dawn's story and when they finally get together at the end, it's f*cking priceless.  14 years later, it's still hard to believe that the cast (at the time) were relative unknowns to the rest of the world. Now, not so much. Highly recommend this as a Buy. The series holds up incredibly well on multiple viewings. I still laugh out loud throughout it at all.

My first introduction to The Office was the BBC series. I loved what I saw , but for some reason, lost track. I tend to do that.

I have yet to see the American version.

There were only 2 "Seasons" or Series if you will with 6 episodes each. Then they came back to do a 2 part Special to wrap everything up. So, you can knock this out in a single day if you got the time. As for the American version, it's an absolute much-watch remake. The first season stumbles a bit because its basically a carbon copy of the original. But the actors portraying the characters have a enough charm to make you stick with it. It's in Season 2 where they just leave what the BBC version started and make their own mark. Even Ricky Gervais has said Steve Carrell's remake is way better than the BBC version. So, definitely check it out!!!

I missed a couple seasons of the American remake, but I did see the final two, mostly because of James Spader joining the cast as Robert California.
