Phone Booth

Trailer

I haven't seen Phone Booth since maybe a year after it came out. So, at least 10 years as gone by. I had forgotten how damn funny the movie was. Well, the humor is unintentional of course, but in both cases I found myself laughing out loud in a few spots. The  h o o k e r s  were incredibly funny and some of Kiefer Sutherland's maniacal laughing also put me in a silly mood. But even with this uncontrollable laughing I had watching the movie, it really doesn't take away from the fact that this is a pretty good Thriller where Colin Ferrell is basically held hostage in a Phone Booth by a Sniper played by Sutherland.

The movie is basically 90 minutes in one location and they are able to maintain the tension needed to sustain something so simple as 'man in a box'. A lot of the success for the film comes down to Colin and Kiefer exchanging barbs on the phone. I'm already a huge fan of Kiefer, so I always know that he will bring his A-Game. Colin on the other hand is an actor I've never really liked...in anything. But he actually does a great job. Definitely worth a Rent. The movie also has Forrest Whittaker and Katie Holmes in a small role if you're looking for some eye candy.

I didn't care for this too much. The single location didn't help with decent acting by Colin Ferrell. Half way through it just loses interest for me.
