Toy Story 3 ups the bar and exceeds that of
Toy Story and
Toy Story 2, which is an amazing achievement because those two films are the standards by which all animated movies are judged by. Even though
John Lasseter didn't direct this installment, his fingerprints were all over it.
Lee Unkrich did a fantastic job picking up where he left off.
This one sees the
Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) and the rest of the gang being shipped off to a Daycare Center that isn't quite so
Sunny, with
Lotso (Ned Betty) rulling with an iron fist, fall out from having been "abandoned" by his owner. If you have seen
TS1 or
TS2, you know what your getting as they try to make it back to
Andy (John Morris), who is leaving for College. But it's the 3rd act that leaves you spellbound, especially the incinerator scene, which had me on the edge of my seat. And then right when you are coming down from that 'high', they knock you over with the ending that will leave any adult choked up. If you feel nothing at the conclusion of the film, you are heartless and can't be helped.
Of course you know what I'm gonna say here. Definite
Buy. Pick it up.
