I was very hopeful and optimistic about Triple 9. I was expecting to get something along the lines of Heat, which is what most were comparing it to. Sadly, even with an all-star cast, it doesn't even come close to that, It's a decent flick, but it had a problem in defining what the movie was about or who the main character was. Literally two different films being sandwiched together and not in a clear or cohesive way since we really don't know who we are suppose to be following. Is it the Good Cop (Casey Affleck) or the Dirty Cop (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Yes, he's not a Cop, but an Ex-Navy Seal. But he runs with Dirty Cops. I'll give it 3 Stars for solid acting, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it though. This is a woulda, coulda, shoulda movie. So much potential, but the writer and director were shortsighted in piecing it all together and at times the writing was lazy.
