Deliverence now.  Followed by Showgirls.

That's the most f*cked up combination I've ever seen put together and totally ingenious! Haha.

And of course "Deliverence" blinked out at about an hour (not sure if I'll get the replacement yet) but now I started Showgirls thinking those dudes in the raft are gonna coast on in.

Wow, I'm only seven minutes into Showgirls (pausing constantly to take notes) and I gotta say, Nomi acts like Lewis Black speaks.  AGGRESSIVELY!

Nomi was the one from Saved By The Bell, right?  I always had this thought, and the movie so far bears me out on this, that this is what happened to her character after the diet pills episode.  Just kept going on that crazy train.

Holy cow, I'm not even at the halfway point in this pile of dreck, but I have to share my current insane theory:

Based on the lousy food she eats, the fact she doesn't give any details about her past, her reluctance to have sex, her crazy height, her complete lack of femininity and the fact she's got a face like a horse, my current insane theory is that Nomi is a man who had a sex change.

Hit & Run

Hit & Run is one of the more eclectic movies I’ve seen in quite some time. It’s stars, produced, written and directed by Dax Shepard. I believe it’s his first real big studio project. He did direct a Parenthood episode and a movie called A Brother’s Justice. It stars his wife Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold, Beau Bridges, and even Joy Bryant (Parenthood’s Crosby’s wife) as a badass coupled with Bradley Cooper.

It’s eclectic in it has odd vibe about it. It’s not really a major motion picture. It feels like a TV movie. The editing has a lot to be desired. You will tilt your head slightly with a WTF. I counted 3 scenes that for me jumped the shark. Totally out of character, way too long, and just a big distraction. Possibly padding the movie.

Hit & Run is a very talky movie. Some of it is pretty good and naturally Dax’s character has some of the best lines. Tom Arnold’s character is just weird. Funny at times, but weird.

I was entertained for the most part, but doubt I’ll watch it again. It’s just was not that satisfying

Chernobyl Diaries

From the creators of the Paranormal Activity movies, they bring this... which after it was over I realized it's a very similar formula. The shaky cam, a small group of people, a slow build up to some creepiness, camera editing to provide just enough of what-was-that? If you know the Paranormal Activity then the ending will make even more sense.

I enjoyed it somewhat. The shaky cam was minimal, but there were a few good surprises here to make it fun horror movie.

I need to see about getting Paranormal Activity from the Library. You reference it quite a lot. Time I see what you're talking about.

I think I've admitted the Paranormal movies are a guilty pleasure. They are all the same. Slow start, slow in the middle with moments of creepiness and a sudden end. The fun is trying to see what paranormal acitivty is occurring in the quiet shots.
