Boy it's going to be a long wait for Season Three, isn't it?  Especially that ending, holy guac!  I was grinnin' from ear to ear.  And now that I know SIMON from Misfits is in it?  Oh mann.... hope I forget about that by release date.

Really need to design my House Sigil.  Though is it sad that the saying would be "Hello?"  As in Hello, Neumann...

BTW, there's some real GoT-ness going on with that last episode of Avatar I watched, flashbacks to the rise of King Ozai in the Fire Nation.  Which was seriously only missing an iron throne, but instead the King sits behind a WALL of fire and judges his family.  And there's nothing like a little sister saying "grandpa's gonna kill you" and mean it literally.

Silver Linings Playbook

Surprised with the rating? Me Too!!!
I hated this movie, despite this being loved by a majority of folks. I'm at odds. I know why I didn't like it, but not sure why it's getting such high praise. I guess it's like Tom Hanks character in Forrest Gump. Bradley Cooper has a bi-polar condition, but they did not take the humorous route. It's all very serious.

I just saw a lot of unexplainable actions bringing a lot of conflict. This is a loud movie. Lots and lots of yelling. I thought it was very obnoxious.

I checked out after 20 minutes...
.... but, I did continue to stay in the room with my wife, who by the way loved this flick. I know the ending had a lot to do with it. We didn't discuss the movie, but I think I know what she likes. The ending was a clincher for her.

Very surprised indeed. This is still on my Must-See list. I hope it's not that bad.

Savages

Well, two nights in a row with movies I never to care to watch again. Savages just starts with little information and it becomes apparent one of the points of the flick is to figure the story out as you go. Yes, you finally have a inkling by the 3rd act, why , when, where, etc...

I was not enjoying the ride. The acting was fine. The story, once you figure it out, is just another cartel and dirty deals, told a little differently.

I actually sat all the way through this to the end. Not only to be highly disappointed, but pissed I wasted 2 hours of my time.

Savages

Just now hearing about this for the first time. Would you say it falls into that Tarantino-world as far as characters go as well as how the story is structured? It's sounds like it is.

Dragon

Starring Donnie Yen, one of my all time favorite Asian/Martial arts actor, stars in Dragon. I was rather impressed with Dragon, for it's care and feeding of a very interesting story of a man with a horrible past trying to escape and lead a simple life. Only problem is, there are those who want him back. The fight scenes are spectacular and even more so here. Using a high speed camera and very smart investigator, they tear down the initial fight to a cellular level. Yes, cellular. It's cooler than it sounds. The scenery is just gorgeous. The actors do a great job of being very different and unique, but not so much to be silly. It had some fly by wire action, but not so much for me to hate it.

The fighting is not central, thus to me, suggesting you check it out for it's unfolding story. It is sub-titled and may put people off. I was OK with it, but for the first time, I did miss what was happening because I was reading. Had to rewind.

Anyway, fantastic Asian cinema.

Started on the final season of Avatar: The Last Airbender.  I have to say that the visuals have come along incredibly, at the start it was just an animated series with an anime look on top, but NOW it honestly looks like a legitimate anime series.  Especially since in the final season, which takes place in the Fire Nation (hope I'm not giving anything away), the characters got new designs and hairstyles (even Aang has hair), now the whole look is different, lots of reds and browns and blacks...

Finally sitting through the credits (has this great flute music to go with it), I notice that they'e got real Chinese martial artists doing the fights in each episode.  So that's pretty cool.

It might take a couple episodes to get into (and if you've seen the live-action movie, the first season might feel even slower) but it's definitely worth watching.  Just gotta figure out how I'm going to see Legend of Korra now.

Bob's Burgers Season 2 finally popped up on Netflix, JUST as Avatar wrapped up (nice finale!).  So smooth sailing from here.
