I put this on hold at the Library based on the good reviews from sites and Entertainment Weekly. I have a long wait though. It will be awhile before I get my copy to check out.

The Grey

Maybe The Grey is because it's about wolf's and their grey? Maybe because the film is very bleak with little color and everything is black or white... and grey. I don't know. I'm just wondering what the title meant. I kind of liked it. I'm glad I didn't pay for it, but nonetheless it was fun to sit through. Nothing really new and you could see story lines coming a mile away, but still the adventure was fun.

A bunch of rough necks working in the Alaskian wilderness get leave and are flying home when the plane crashes and leaves 7 men alive. They just happen to land in an area dominated by wolf packs and since they are very territorial and don't know man, they are on the offensive. The rest of the story is of survival. Yep, it's that simple. Some character interaction, but beyond that, a simple story of survival in very wintery conditions against some blood thirsty wolves.

I say at least a rent and this time of year, will make thinking about winter that much more enjoyable.

I don't care who was associated with this. This was just a lazy-ass movie. A far stretch of trying to pull a demon or the devil out of some numbers. Really lame. This was not scary in the least. Lots of shadows and what did I just see kind of scenes. They staple together a story that they  try to put a nice bow on at the end. And the end... good lord. Shoddy ass laziness. We've seen it all before, but in much better ways.

I give it 1/2 star for Wendy Glen. Just looking at her. Nothing else.

Ok. Just make sure you watch it before 12-12-12, or who knows what unspeakable demon things will happen.

The Devil Inside (0 Stars)

I'm watching this as i am writing and can't believe I still have it on. It is that bad. Yet ANOTHER religious spin on the devil. He's popular this weekend.

Found footage... AGAIN. Lame****inglame. About as scary as 'Scary Movie'

I've only got it on because they say the ending is horrendous.... Bad. I gotta see.

Confidence

Dustin Hoffman
Edward Burns
Andy Garcia
Rachel Weisz
Paul Giammatti

Before last night, I had never even heard of Confidence. This movie is just packed with a great cast of characters. Even the secondary string of characters are all recognizable and unique.
If you like sting movies like the Oceans movies or the Sting, I think you’re gonna really like Confidence. This is not a movie you take a pee break or get distracted. It’s very complicated, chaotic and frenetic. Not so much to loose it. Though I kinda did once on them explaining one of the cons.

Anyway, there is humor sprinkled throughout the intricate plot. It’s a fun ride. Most of the fun is trying to figure out when the Con is being worked for the Mark, or for the viewing audience. I have to say that Dustin Hoffman as the badass crime boss is really pushing believability. Nonetheless he is fun to watch work his words.

Definitely a rent.
