Inside (À l'intérieur)

What do I say about this film. I guess I'm getting older and find gore, for the scare, getting distasteful to me. I think it was the taboo of years ago and tried to watch it but after viewing Inside last night, I could go without. Inside was one of the most gore soaked films I've seen in a long time. I guess what turns me off is the lack of story. The twist is naturally at the end, but while watching the whole thing, the viewer is asking why. None of it makes sense. Just senseless bloodletting everywhere. In a nutshell a crazy woman wants a pregnant woman's baby. And anybody who comes within feet of the house, and mostly the pregnant woman is going to get some pretty bad stuff done to them.

Surprisingly the trailer is pretty representative what happens.

I just Didn't like it. There is suspense. My knuckles were turning white, but all said and done, I wish I didn't watch it and have no desire to see it again.

I like old school horror flicks that ask the audience to create the scare moments inside your head. Give me Poltergeist, Elm Street or Friday The 13th any day of the week. I think torture  p o r n  has saturated the market so much that it's lost it's X factor. They all blend in with the next and makes it hard to distinguish anymore.

Yea, I was never into torture ****. I did like a good bloody dismemberment by an alien. That just seems surreal.

I like the 'creepy' movies to scare me. Just enough to go oh hell no, don't go there.

This stuff is just nasty

Meeting Evil

This is essentially a play of cat and mouse between Samuel Jackson and Luke Wilson... and a good performance by Leslie Bibb. I'm not sure what I think of this. It kept me glued to the screen the whole time, but the script is uneven. Sometimes the characters do things like WTF, other times you expect them to do something and nothing.

The ending is WTF. Not satisfying because I'm not sure what happened.

I can only imagine Sam Jackson had an absolute blast with this character. Watch it for that at least.

Five Year Engagement

This should have been good. It had Judd Apatow producing and the Segal and Blunt were a great chemistry. Unfortunately every joke was long and boring and seen before. This was one of the most blah movies I've seen in a long time.

Bored-to-death. We finally turned it off after an hour. It was just that bad.

Piranha DD

I give it one star for stellar boobages and slow mo on the bounce. Beyond that even Gary Busey's strange ass could not lift this film up. The original was fun with cheese... extra cheese. 3DD is just a quick money grab. Stupid in every respect. Maybe MST3K stupid, but I'm not going to watch this again sober.

Safe

Jason Stratham does one kind of character... and he's the best at it. His badass, action flicks are a guilty pleasure and I don't expect a whole lot except, some breaking bones, shoot 'em up and great fights. Unfortunately his movie have been hit and miss. Safe delivers. Not a deep story, but still enough variety of characters to be very fun to watch. Not only the Russian and Asian mobs pitted against each other but New York cops are in the middle of it. And finally, not stupid cops. Some pretty bad ass cops.

The fights are excellent and intense. I rolled my eyes just a little when a gun fight broke out in a dance club and the reality was lost when no collateral damage of the customers. Just bad guys getting shot.

Speaking of shooting, the kills were powerful and just enough was shown to know its serious. A little more than the typical hollywood shoot out.

I recommend it for just a guys mindless action flick. Not enough to buy, but worthy of rent.
