I'm sure that's one of the reasons I drew and wrote all the time, I had to make a lot of my own entertainment.  Even comic books when I was a kid were luxury items.  Of course, it took me too darn long to realize that my stuff should entertain other people as well, my talents languished when I was performing for an audience of one.
