The IcemanAnother movie I picked up with very little knowledge of what it was about. In essence, based on true events of the infamous hit man Richard Kuklinski, known as The Iceman. The Iceman is play by Michael Shannon, who does nothing for me as an actor. The last movie I saw him in was Premium Rush, and while he demonstrated some acting skills, he still has one style. Pretty much stoned face or grimace. And maybe that’s why he was picked to emulate The Icemman, but to me that makes terrible, uninteresting story telling. Ray Liotta was an upcoming mob boss (surprise, surprise), getting Kuklinski on his way to his hitman career. Gawd, Liotta is one dimensional too. This all seemed so repetitive in every respect.
I turned it off after 45 minutes.

This was not a weekend for any good movies. Empire State is a brink’s truck company that seems to be the center of corruption. The story dragged about a young man wanting to become a cop, but fails because of past drug bust, so he does the next thing and becomes a security guard.
I think this was going to be heist movie. I dunno. I was so bored and didn’t care about any of the characters by the time The Rock made his way on screen.
I too, turned this off after 30 minutes or so.
