"Side By Side" by Keanu Reeves. It's about digital vs traditional filmmaking, and unlike many documentaries it doesn't pick a side, it's just all these famous directors, cinematographers and editors on both sides saying what they love, like, dislike, and hate about the formats. And it feels VERY dense, there's very little wasted time. Feels like a two or even two and a half hour movie cut down to 100 minutes, which I appreciate. There's all sort of little things I didn't know about, giving a history of digital camera development, films they were used on and how people picked up on that and wanted to experiment. This is a darn good doc and I'm only 30 minutes in (but like I said, feels much further-- in a good way).
Also never heard this great tidbit: on Scanner Darkly, Robert Downey Jr was complaining about being on his feet 14 hours a day, not being able to go to his trailer or mellow out, so he'd start leaving mason jars of urine on the set as a little protest.
