and?.... How'd it look and sound?

Well, ya know, considering that the movie was shot with the idea of making it look grainy and old, it looked okay. Really nothing to write home about as far as the blu-ray quality. It's crisp, but no real instances of the "window effect". Audio was fine.  Watched Doomsday (see trailer below) tonight , also on blu-ray and that looked amazing, especially with the  tv converting it to 3d.  Avatar looks SICK !

If the question was aimed towards the TV, it looks and sounds AWESOME !  :D

I'll post more later.

Cool, on both comments. I didn't think I need to jump to BR for those movies.

Hanna

Hanna asks the viewer to take a huge leap of faith and believability of a petite young girl groomed to be an assassin by her dad, deep in the woods, far from any civilization. I wanted to buy into it, but it soon just got ridiculous. What little acting there was with Hanna and her assassin dad, was counter balanced with a stereotypical bad guy played by Cate Blanchette. This is not a train ride of heart pounding action as described by some. Half the movie is Hanna discovering everything new to those things she has never seen, including electricity and music. To me the tipping point was when this little girl breaks an agents neck with her bare hands and then tends to beat the crap out other much larger male agents. The fight scene with Eric Bana (Dad) and surrounding agents is actually quite laughable. Just rolled my eyes.

There are far better movies out there like Nikita and Point of No Return, to just name a few.

It worked with Leon: The Professional. I thought that film was so real that I figured the movie was a documentary.  ;D

In the last 2 nights -

Hanna - excellent from start to finish. I think the video graininess was intentional if not it still loooked pretty good. The audio was pretty good too but the real standout is the story and Saoirse Ronan as Hanna and the most excellent supporting cast. I'm thinking Mac may have watched a different Hanna or maybe just doesn't get the whole Hanna rest of the world relationship but I loved Hanna. point of no Return is pretty terrible remake of La Femme Nikita which I found pretty boring. Also neither of these 3 movies come close to the top teir greatness that is Leon.

X-Men First Class - a/v outstanding. The story is a little weak but Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr and James McAvoy as Xavier really holds it together. Kevin Bacon doesn't hurt the cause either.

X-Men First Class

I put in my hold request for this today at the Library. I'm #126 in line. By the time I get this, the franchise will be onto the 3rd film.

Not worth the wait in my opinion.  Another franchise reboot and origin retelling with some pretty bland actors and a god awful Emma Frost.

I did other things while watching this movie it lost my interest so fast.

Uhh....they're kinda the same movie.

Regardless... I stopped watching Hanna after her and the other girl hooked up with the boys and started riding around.  Lost my interest at that point. My wife finished it and she was very disappointed by it.  Oh well.  :P

Win Win

Despite the rating, I enjoyed Win Win and would recommend it to anybody. It’s not a amazing film, but  it kept me watching at the rollercoaster of emotions and directions. Paul Giamatti picks some pretty good roles and this one fits him perfectly as a stressed out, but caring and loving family man. And his wife Amy Ryan had chemistry. Alex Schafer (wrestler) didn’t talk or act much really. While I guess this was his character, crapped on continually by his family, I just didn’t care that much for him.
