I'm a few minutes from starting episode five of "House of Cards."

Kevin Spacey = awesome, and he does this aside to the camera that immediately reminded me of Ian McKellan in Richard III (without the hump).  He just oozes sinister ambition and determination and whatever he's planning, you know he's gonna pull it off and you're just curious to know how and who will get hurt in the process.  Though I am a little curious as to what the endgame is going to wind up being, but I guess we'll have to wait for the end of season two to find out.

I also couldn't help but be taken with Kate Mara... the minute I saw her I thought "this is who I'd have cast as Lois Lane if I was doing Superman."

And a series that looks like a David Fincher movie, how can you go wrong?  I just wish he has directed episode 4, I would have loved to see how HIS Oval Office would look.

The one thing that does annoy me about the show, though, is that there are no episode names.  It seems insane in this day and age not to do it, so I have a habit of coming up with my own names like I did when I would videotape everything so I knew what the heck was on what tape.  use the old noodle a little bit.

I've never heard of House Of Cards until you spoke of it. Is this series still on the air? HBO? Showtime? If it's either one of those, that goes a long way to explaining why I've not heard anything or seen any promos as I don't have cable.

I don't get HBO *OR* Showtime.  It's Netflix exclusive and just came out today.  They've been promoting the hell out of it.  Netflix is keen to become HBO before HBO can become them, hence paying a premium for original content.

Thankfully though, they put the first episode out free for everyone.

Unfortunately, there won't ever be a Blu-Ray or DVD release, so there's only one way to see it.  Which I guess is the point.

If there is money to be made, trust me, there will be a release, even if there is something in the contract that says there won't be. Money talks.....

Still watching House of Cards.  I can't believe I didn't mention that besides being a producer, David Fincher freaking directed the first two (and maybe others, I haven't been checking).  It's a David Fincher TV SERIES.  And there's none of that horrible "waiting for next week" thing that I can't stand.

So that's the Netflix production I was reading about. It was going into some detail about how Netflix will have to pay for this, how much, etc. the owner of Netflix is determined. I can try to find it if you like.

So all the episodes are done and you watch them now, when you want?

Mac- that's right, it's like when a DVD of the whole season comes out.

I'm reading an article on the Atlantic Wire right now.  Five new series a year?  Wonder what they could be.

Paranormal Activity 4

Let's get something straight. The Paranormal Activity movies are all the same. They have the same premise of being a voyeur and watching a family go through ghostly experiences. The scares come randomly and not very often.

Now, let me say these movies are a guilty pleasure. I typically can't stand the hand held camera crap, but these movies keep it to a minimum. The money shots are in the stationary camera's of the room, just ever so slightly seeing the ghostly apparition. Just when you think a scare should be there. It comes in somewhere else. PA4 was a blast. It's good for one watch, but after that you know what happens. With the right music and sounds and visuals, these are pretty creepy. The last minute of the film had me screaming like a little school girl.

Oh, they are working on a Paranormal Activity 5 as we speak.
