Django Unchained

Django is the latest project by Quentin Tarantino. Buzz I was hearing was good. I like most of Tarantino’s work. Inglorious Bastards would probably be the only exception of not revisiting that particular project. I am glad to report, Django Unchained is thoroughly enjoyable from very beginning and maintains that movie experience throughout the entire film. There are some laughs. There are some gut wrenching scenes that are hard to watch. Every character is unique and pleasure to watch for what they do. The dialog, duh, is exceptional. Even with the harsh use of the N-word. But that only brought truth and realism to the movie. No sugar coating here. I could not believe this was a 3 hour flick. Time went so quick. Loved DeCaprio’s character, Christopher Waltz character is truly amazing. I won’t give away spoilers, except, watch Samuel L. Jackson’s character. Simply awesome.

I can’t recommend enough to at the very least rent this baby. Saying that, it may not be for everybody.

I'm somewhere like 220 on the wait list. I may just go ahead an buy it since I already own all of his other movies (except Death Proof which I need to get as well).

I just bought "Inglorious Basterds" the other day.  Ten bucks on Blu-Ray.  So you have an idea how patient I can be.

Django's an awesome f'in movie, although I personally can't not think that it's Quentin Tarantino's response to "Wild Wild West."  Like he saw the trailer and said, "Okay, you're gonna do a western where the black guy's the hero and he's d*ckin' around with a smart white guy, THIS is how you do it."

Right now I'm watching Wargames since it's about to expire off Netflix.  Been a while since I've seen it (I do still have "Project X" in my head).  And I've been wanting to see this again since it's appearance in "Ready Player One" (I just got to that scene, incidentally).

BTW, can we have a moratorium on "nice of you to join us" scenes in movies now, please?

No! These are the best scenes ever and rank right up there with skinny dipping and shower scenes. FYI

When I do a flick like this, my guy's going to get into class on time.  Still not going to do him any good.

Thank you for bringing it back to skin, since you mentioned American Pie I was thinking about Shannon's scene and mixing it with Megan Fox's Transformers scenes and whichever ones I can mush into it, you know I'm always into making the "ultimate" versions of stuff.

"Wargames" is over.  The only winning move was not to play.

Not on to "High Anxiety."  And I'm also starting to write my first draft of my new story, nine pages in already.

"Wargames" is over.

Clearly you don't watch the news. It's never over. Joshua is just napping.

I'd like to think that if Joshua was in our super surveillance state, it would be a lot more fun and carefree.

Oh whoa, I didn't catch in "High Anxiety" the room number is 1701.  Like the Enterprise.

"Night Shift," old Ron Howard flick about two guys (Henry Winkler and Michael Keaton) running a hooker ring out of the NY morgue.  I used to watch this flick with my dad (we still say "that Barney Rubble, what an actor!" to each other, it's like a code).  I haven't seen this in a while, I decided to take a day to chill, but of course I'm using this time to plot out of how to lay out my outline cards (I'll share the format I end up with in the writing section).

It's been years since I even got a whiff of Night Shift.

I still can't say "idea man" without chuckling.  I haven't seen this in a long time either.  Which is kinda how I like it these days, I get to rediscover old stuff I liked.

"Nah-ah, get outta town!  Just you, me, and the stiffs alone here? That's gonna be radical, Chuck! That guy's dead!"

I was amazed to notice that it was about 70 scenes in "Night Shift."  Which is what I heard was the magic number.

Right now I'm in the middle (right after the midpoint) of "My Cousin Vinnie."  Not sure what I'll follow it up with.  But I feel like I'm in a stronger position to do my cards tomorrow (cleared off my old bulletin board earlier, darn that thing is caked with dirt!  Thankfully, I was intending to put fresh stuff on there anything.
