Omnivores (Fangoria)
A Spanish horror film that is hard to watch, but you must like a train wreck.
The subject matter is very disturbing and the way it's presented in the movie is intriguing. In particular, the editing.
In a nutshell, a chef is asked to attend a new fad of dining where it's invite only, in a secret place, different each time. Once he's in, he asked to write about the experience. It's not long before he finds out some of its unique, unsavory side. The customers are there for the human flesh. Where it gets interesting, early on, the editing cuts in and out of the dark side of the operations of capturing people and preparing them, contrasting that telling the story of a people going to what is thought, basic dining. The movie is graphic and disturbing in content, but it had me hooked. It's not simply straight horror, there is a full circle story here, that gets complicated. What would you do?
I thought the ending copped out and they could have done better, but overall, it's an amazing kind of horror. Mental.
