Precious Cargo (1 Star)

I give Precious Cargo 1 star for being incredibly campy trying to be serious. The director must have taken a bunch of notes from some seriously bad action films. Gawd awful dialog with lazy action sequences makes Cargo mind numbing dumb. Willis called this one in for a paycheck. He's not in it much, and surprisingly, he's the high point.

The action scenes teeter on coming from Naked Gun. A boat chase scene feet apart and they shoot a ton of bullets without hitting anything. It's laughable.

But the core problem is, not one person is likable.

Can't even recommend this for mindless fun.

The Grinder is on Netflix. Freakin' finally.  It's making the evening fly by slowly... if that makes sense.  I thought it was much later than it really is, and I've seen so many episodes.  Enjoying it, though it's different than what I expected.  Fred Savage is cracking me up, freaking out over everything.  And of course I still love Natalie Morales.

Ghostbusters (2016) (2 1 stars)

A movie review by James Berardinelli
Let me begin this review of the 2016 Ghostbusters remake by pretending there was no 1984 iteration. How enjoyable would the film be if it didn’t have such enormous baggage, if it didn’t emerge under the long shadow of a beloved predecessor? The answer to that hypothetical is disappointingly prosaic: this is a mediocre horror/comedy that deserves neither high praise nor disparagement.

I saw this review, which is way more detailed, but I read the first lines and it simply said what I witnessed.

I'll forget this in very short time.

I never laughed once. The jokes were very lame. So much talent. Very little entertainment. Why do studios keep relying on these crutch projects.

Misconduct (4 Stars)

I saw this trailer some time ago and it looked interesting. Great cast.

It turned out to be as interesting as the trailer portrays. Lots of twists and turns. You can kinda figure out the who done it, but it's still a great ride.

I got straight up no idea what I'm gonna watch tonight.  Nothing's really piquing my interest, even though "Dark Matter" and "Legens Of Tomorrow" just dropped and I really do want to watch them... I'm not in the mood.  I'm not even in the mood for my go-to feel good.  No clue what I'm gonna watch.

The one thing I've been enjoying recently isn't even a movie, it's a book, "All Creatures Great And Small," and I'm not even in the mood to read THAT.  Very frustrating, to need something and not know what it is.

Neighbors 2

Really? Really? A sequel? Gawd this blew. The original was wildly mediocre. This is just downright awful.
I gave it 20 minutes... then off.

And on a side note, I find Chloe Moretz less and less of an actress. She does one character and not all that well or interesting. Of course that could be said for Zac and Seth as well.

Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids (Netflix)

This is straight up an experiment in new music for me. I know only 1 Timberlake song the old band was considering. Other than that, I wouldn't know one if I heard it.

This concert is getting great reviews and honestly I like his acting skills and his personality.

Unfortunately, I just cannot connect with his music. It's definitely not what I thought it might be. I would love for somebody to tell me what style it is.
Also, I'm not a big fan of the male falsetto (except maybe Steve Perry).

He has a hell of a support band and singers and dancers. He himself, comes off as very well produced. I just was not finding the chemistry. I was yawing pretty early on.
That's me. I'm sure he has a huge fan base and that's great. Creativity and he did appear to be doing it all live. Can't say that about a lot of other pop acts.

I don't know what you would call his music (maybe adult contemporary), but oh man, I liked it.  Totally digging it and the stage work was great... that big moving platform was nuts... what a cool idea, too!  Everyone gets a good view with that thing.
