Because it was about to expire off Netflix, I rewatched Before I Disappear which I hadn't seen since it was on the festival circuit.  I know I mentioned it at the time on here, being a fan of the Oscar-winning short film it was based on.

Here's my two fave bits: the "shut the f*ck up!" scene and the dance scene right after it.  Lucky I found those on Youtube.

And here's the original scene, with the same actors in the same location doing the same thing to the same song.

(little bit of trivia: that little girl is Dora The Explorer).

The Founder.  Finally got around to seeing this and I liked it a lot, particularly the stuff in the first act where they showcase what a game changer the original McDonald's was ("What's this?" "Your food." "I just ordered it." "And now it's ready." "I don't think so.") and how they figured out how to make it work right.  I love that kind of thing.  I'm so happy that Keaton's back, and Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch are perfectly cast as the brothers.

I will say that one annoyance I had was the flick was how many people were introduced with their full name, it was distracting because you know they're all real people.  Just felt a little unndatural.

Momma O Papa  yeah, I watched this whole thing on a plane.  No subtitles.  Which probably tells you a lot about me.

Suddenly Seventeen- A funky Chinese flick, sort of a mix between 13 Going On 30 and The Nutty Professor.  After being dumped by her boyfriend after she proposes to him, she drowns her sorrow in magic chocolate (yeah) and wakes up with her 17 year old mind in her head.  And hysterics ensue.

Oh HELLO! On Broadway

Was very pleasantly surprised to see this pop up on Netflix, because I really wanted to see the show.  Freaking hilarious, and I'm not going to tell you anything about who else was in it or what it was about.  Just go see it.

Totally forgot about The Founder. Need to see if my Library has a copy yet.

Power Rangers 2017.  Very Breakfast Club, to the point where the auditions were literally sides from that movie (and Trini is so Allison).  Chip, you'd probably like this flick on that alone.  But honestly, on the whole it's a watchable movie, far less Chronicle or Transformers than the trailers suggest.  Very much into the drama and emotion of the characters, even if they are vastly different than the originals.

Even though I have never watched a single Power Rangers episode, I have every intention of checking out the flick. Bonus points for TBC reference.

I think some of TBC wound up IN the flick by accident, I wont say more.

Not seeing the show probably helps, the attitude/style of the movie is quite different (though not as dark as the promo material suggests).  Just very different, especially Billy.  I did enjoy Bill Hader as Alpha way more than I thought I would.

And it feels like ages since I've seen a blu-ray with this amount of promo material, I gotta give it up for that.  And the cast is adorable behind the scenes, joking and laughing.  I definitely want a sequel (which apparently they are working on, they want to have Lord Zedd and Tommy in it) just to see those actors again.

Side thought, Naomi Scott was in another movie called "Lemonade Mouth" which is somehow MORE Power Rangers than the actual Power Rangers movie.  And follows the same basic premise, a group of ethnically diverse kids from different walks of life end up in detention together and join up to form a team.
