I like early Woody Allen for their goofiness. He's since matured and gone down new paths. I haven't seen many of his flicks of late, but the ones I have seen are respectable. The only element I really recognized as a Woody Allen film was the film score. Classic stuff, but it fit.

No, there is no 'goofiness' here, but as a engaging romantic film it does have it's charm. Check it out. You may fun trying to point out all the famous people Owen comes across. And the cool thing is, that's not fictional writing. It would have been very possible to have run across all those people if you were in the right place at the right time.

I've heard that a lot about the writing, that it's very true to life and relocatable for sure.

Colombiana

So a story by Luc Besson who has created hits and misses. This is clearly is a miss. A miss in story telling, dialogue and IMO believing Cataleya (Zoe Saldana) could do any of these spy things. Just think 007/Nikita/the Professional genre. And they are asking a huge leap of faith to ignore her size (she's petite when wet). Totally made this fast paced action movie to just roll my eyes. And they completely leave out any character depth. You could care less about any of them. Even Cataleya is one dimensional.

Rent at your own risk.

From a distance I thought it was Maggie Q on the cover. Never even heard of this movie till your review.

We were just cruising through the channels and happened upon this. I knew about the series, but knew nothing of the movie. What a nice surprise. They put together a story that eased you into the clash of cultures. Often funny. And ohmygawd is Ayesha Dharker bee-u-tee-ful. Highly recommend for a fun entertaining flick.

Pavement

Despite it having credible actors like Robert Patrick and Lauren Holly, the story is just outright stupid. For those in the genre of CSI and investigators maybe this is your kind of movie. I thought it was insulting because of the huge plot holes and leaps of faith is asked us to take.

Did this come from the series or the other way around? Are they related in anyway?

The movie is 2007, so I think the series came from the movie.

I never did see the series.

I'm gonna definitely check this one out for sure. I'm probably the only one on the planet that isn't embarrassed to admit to liking the series. I miss Gupta. Funny dude/character.

Apollo 18

Man, I wanted to enjoy this...

... but, well, it to too little too late. It waited far to long to put the scare out there and when it did it was so chaotic and small, you couldn't tell what was going on. There were a few good scares, but this could have been so much more. This definitely suffered not only from the found footage hand held images, but also the bad transmission, snow, scrambling that often occurs.

Jumping the Broom

Despite this clearly being a chick flick, that does not automatically make it unwatchable. In fact, I think just about anybody in a relationship or has had experience of being in a relationship will enjoy this fast paced, smartly written, witty and funny movie. While the tradition of ‘Jumping The Broom’ is a cultural heritage, it doesn’t exclude other traditions, but highlights all kinds of nuances wedding plans can go through. The basic premise of families coming from opposite sides of the track has been done before, but it's still fresh and smartly written.

I think the characters are well written and each one adds to the story. I definitely recommend. You will not be disappointed, but instead be very entertained, which is the point of movies anyway.
