It's funny the stuff you will sit through in the name of love Mac. She must be an awesome Wife with the amount of Chick Flicks you've logged in over the years.

Well, first my wife is awesome, but we definitely have some decisive lines drawn on what movies we will watch together. Actually What’s Your Number was my pick. I’ve known about  Anna Faris through here goofball comedy in the Scary Movie flicks. I did not know this was a chick flick. I picked it strictly for Anna.

The Ides of March

I'm on the fence. Great acting, excellent story, but it does deal with the snake like characters of politics, which I despise. Which on one hand I've seen way to much in real life, but on the other hand is great timing for this movie. You have to pay attention to this movie. The dialog is fast and chaotic and mainly revolves around campaign teams and the strategies. The 2nd act gets into it's groove and becomes more than a political machine. It gets into characters, and slowly reveals the true nature of people. The 3rd act goes fast displays secrets and in my mind is what the movie was designed to due. Keep you glued. The last minute of the film will either make you say WTF or awesome. I say awesome.

I recommend. Get past the 100% political staging and into the meat of the movie and I think you'll enjoy this.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

This is an entertaining movie from the very first shot to the last. I loved every aspect of this movie. It just drips with atmosphere, light, shadows, textures and colors. Every detail was examined. Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes are natural for their roles. The real star is Sally (Bailee Madison). She brings to the screen her small child world view. Pretty amazing to watch. The house is comfortable but in an old school gothic haunted house way. The picture was amazing. Never too dark. The creatures deliver too. Guillermo Del Toro has his talented vision invested in this and it shows. If you like creepy horror, I highly recommend.

Dead End

I liked this very quirky movie. I had no idea what it was when I picked it up.

Essentially a twilight zone story. I won't give anything away, but let's just say when things start rolling, stick around. Something new and unexpected happens every few minutes. I had no idea where this flick was going. I probably won't watch it again. Once you know the twists, it's not as fun. But recommend it for a night of bizarre movie watching.

Final Destination 5

I’m not surprised about my lack of enthusiasm for Final Destination 5. It’s obvious everybody recognizes the franchise only exists to see how creatively they can kill people. While I can kind of enjoy the creative part, the lack of story or actually replication of the same story from the previous 4 makes this at best, mediocre. What makes it boring is the lack of creative kills. I swear some of the same dialog must have been used. I’m pretty sure the studios were hanging their hat on 3D pulling in the money. I don’t know how this did in the theaters but watching it at home bored me. I kinda knew it going in and well, was confirmed. I couldn’t recommend this unless you have absolutely nothing else to watch, even if it’s watching SpongeBob.

The best thing I liked about FD5 is the posters and cover work.

I've yet to watch any installment of this series. But I aim to rectify that soon.
