The Manager and the Salesman

Kathy Bates makes her first "official" visit to the Scranton Branch as Jo to do a meet and greet with her new employees. Immediately upon her entrance we are rewarded with a very funny gag in which her dogs can't get enough of Andy's crotch. Speaking of Andy, I've never seen anyone have as much trouble talking to a girl and telling her he likes her. Come on dude! Just ask Erin out already. And to think I thought that Michael was horrible with chicks.

Ugh.

I figured the sight that I was getting the Screencaps would be back up and running again today. Doesn't look like it will be. It's a broken link now and I can't find any other sites that offer high quality caps. So, it looks like no more for the time being. Hopefully I can find another site soon that can provide good caps and I can add later.

The Delivery

Great episode and very funny. Even though I give this one 5 stars, I was still put off by the whole Dwight and Angela baby contract. It was just weird that they would go down that road, even though they are but anal enough to do so. Anyway, I thought Andy hiding behing plants to spy on Erin and Kevin was a hoot, especially when he banged his head on the cabinet trying to hide from....hiding.  I knew that when Pam finally got the baby to latch that it wasn't her baby, but the baby of the mother in the next bed. Haha.

St. Patrick's Day

Finally a episode that was actually uncomfortable to sit through. There is nothing more nerve racking than watching people go out of their way to kiss the ass of the new Boss, which would be Jo. Man, I've seen this plenty of times at my old job when a new Boss would show up. It's sickening to see people with no diginity just sucking up. Ugh. Hate it. Also uncomfortable was watching Andy trying to make a play for Erin at her house and having to deal with her Foster Brother. Really odd.

The episode was ok, but the best gag was of course Dwight's Mega-Desk and Jim countering that with his own Quad-Desk. Funny.

New Leads

Good, if not great. It has felt lately, the last few episodes that the writing has been on the downward slide. Other than the episode Delivery, it's been less than it's usual perfect episodes. This one has Michael using the New Leads to control an Office that is well...out of control. Since Michael has lost the power of being able to fire anyone, he has lost the respect of his employees.

Even though I enjoyed the garbage fight between Michael and Dwight in the city dump, it was just really weird to see an extended scene shot entirely against a green-screen. I get that you can't have actors shooting in an actual dump for health and safety reasons, but it still doesn't change the fact that it looked odd. Leave it to Andy to finally get that kiss from Erin in the city dump of all places.

Happy Hour

Nice to get back on track with a very funny episode that has the gang going out for drinks at a Dave And Buster's style place. Unbeknownst to Michael, he has been set up on a blind date by Pam with her friend. It's going well until he realizes that he is in fact on a date. It's all downhill from here when he brings out 'Date Mike'. FUNNY!

I wish that Isabel (Kelen Coleman) had a much longer run on the show as Dwight's love interest. She made her first appearance back in Niagara and was last seen in the Delivery episode. The more they explore Andy and Erin as a couple, the more annoying Andy becomes. I use to think that Michael had no game. I stand corrected. Andy has Erin, his girlfriend and he STILL has no game!

Secretary's Day

Andy is reeeeeally starting to get on my nerves now. I just realize that the character was better, i.e. funnier up until he was shipped off for anger management. Since then he is a bore, odd, occasionally has a funny moment, but is otherwise just a weird clueless idiot. This episode just highlights all that and more. I did find Erin's reaction to be funny both at the restaurant and then later at the party when she learns about Andy's past relationship with Angela.

The Cookie Monster gag was only marginally funny. I did enjoy everyone making fun of Gabe bacause I can't stand him either.

Body Language

Great episode and the perfect example of why when Michael tries pretending he has game, it's funny as oppose to Andy who just looks sad and pathetic in his attempt to bag a chick. This was a really good episode and it was getting uncomfortable just watching Michael getting rejected both times. In the end, third time was in fact the charm. He got her.

The Cover-Up

Very funny episode and we owe it all to Dwight K. Schrute and his ability to exercise. When Michael grows suscious that his new girlfriend Donna (Amy Pietz) is cheating on him, he has Dwight follow her, which leads him to her gym and thus his "exercise" program. Funny funny stuff. The epilogue at the end where he literally takes over the cycling class was a riot.

Also funny was Darryl's prank on Andy, getting him to believe that he would have to enter witness protection because he will become a whistler blower against Sabre for manufacturing faulty printers.

And yes, Donna is cheating on Michael.

The Chump

Michael spend the entire episode trying to justify carrying on an affair with Donna. He even goes so far as to meet the Husband in an effort o learn about what a douche and a horrible person he is but instead finds him to be very gracious and likable. In the end, Michael finally lets his conscious tell him to do the right thing...to break it off with her.

Whistleblower

Good episode because of Nick the IT guy and it was all of about 2 minutes tops, but it left a lasting image when he spilled the secrets of those in the Office, namely Andy and that he was the one that released the video of the malfunctioning printer that had Jo come down to Dunder Mifflin to do damage control. Somehow she was able to convince Michael to take the blame and get him to have an on-air press conference. But it's what happens at the very end that raised his eyebrows and the rest of those that love The Office. He asked Jo to transfer Holly back. And that's where we leave off. Stay tuned......

And where is the Scranton Strangler when you need someone to kill Gabe. Please, kill him off already! I've never liked him the first time around and I hate him even more this time around.

The Office (Season 6)

There was definitely a noticeable slip in the writing for Season 6. The first five seasons were pretty much near perfect every time, but in this season it seemed like they were running out of ideas half the time or stretching gags longer than they should have gone. I still enjoyed those 5 star episodes, but the rest was just good or very average as was the case with Koi Pond. I own all the Seasons for The Office and I'm glad I that I do. But for those rare exceptions for those who have never seen Season 6, I'd say this is a Rent.
