Tried 5 Guys once... nothing special. Don't get me wrong. I find burgers low on my priority to 'be special'. I just eat 'em to fill up.

There is only one place (local) that actually stand out. It's called O'Connells.

We continually have many places that open up that are supposed to be the next thing. Crystals comes to mind. Lots of buzz and praise. I tried it. I was greatly disappointed. Didn't see any of that (taste, atmosphere, uniqueness).

My focus is more on Pizza... Still looking for the holy grail of good great pizza

Eh, they keep raising the rent around here, it really sucks b/c there's a lot of home-grown businesses and restaurants in my neighbourhood that are just going to be unfairly priced out of the competition so more higher-end chain sh*t can take their place.

Do you want hepatitis A with that burger?

I don't even think we have a Red Robin around here. As a matter of fact, never even heard of the place until a few weeks ago when I caught one of their 'Birthday' Commercials.

UPDATE:

I Googled to see if we do have one locally. We do. Only one is in La Jolla. Also checked to see when they were established. How the f*ck does a chain exist for 45 years and I'm just NOW hearing about them? What the f*ck!

45 years? Seriously. I think around here, maybe 20 years I've know about them.

Hate them actually... because they are 'family' style... meaning kids running around, parties, ballons.. and that BS that doesn't have anything to do with good food.

I've eaten there twice in my lifetime. 2 times 2 many.

Hamburger Chef Jamie Oliver Proves McDonald’s Burgers “Unfit for human consumption”

Even though I haven't had a hamburger at MdDonald's in years, this is even more incentive to stay away.

Holy crap... that's disgusting.... and worse.... wrong.

I've been on the fence for awhile with those fast food places. I've been weaning myself from them... because it just seems something off.

Now I know.

I used to never have McDonald's except in an emergency.  Now I doubt I'll do that.  And this is before even clicking that link.  Do I want to?

Do I want to?

Only if you want to educate yourself and use the knowledge to spread the word about what kind of sick sh*t goes on in the food industry.

I know about the pink goo.... can it be worse than the pink goo?

I really wish I had a taste for fruit and veg... I still hold out hope that there's the killer combination I haven't found yet, but no luck yet.

Then what is it that people flock to McDonald’s?
Cheap? Fast? Convenient? Kid friendly?

If the taste is just OK, why would McDonald's be the go to place.

I only go if absolutely necessary. That's doesn't happen very often.
