For a paltry $600, it's yours.

I do like it though.

It's cool, but I remember reading an article recently about how wasteful second fridges are, which this most definitely is.  I don't know what the power consumption of a mini-fridge IS, so I don't know how I'd feel about getting one (of course, I don't drink and after th disgusting mini fridge I had in college, I doubt I'll ever get another one).  Having said that, I'm definitely thinking of having a character in one of my stories having one of those.

(I also love that the knobs go to 11)

D'oh.... did not notice that. (Slap forehead)

On a side note, I've been wanting to get one of those Marshall Bluetooth Speakers. But like everything else (too expensive), I need to wait until the price comes down @ $400

Get hypnotized with these magic fibonacci zoetrope sculptures

Quote
ohn Edmark has created a fascinating series of fibonacci zoetrope sculptures that feel like magic. Watch them in action. It's hypnotizing.

The recursive nature of the sequence used to build them and the filming technique—with the camera "set to a very short shutter speed (1/4000 sec) in order to freeze the spinning sculpture" but with natural light—make them look as if the sculptures were growing forever.

New amazing metal is so hydrophobic it makes water bounce like magic

Quote
Scientists at the University of Rochester have created a metal that is so extremely hydrophobic that the water bounces on it as if it were repelled by a magic force field. Instead of using chemical coatings they used lasers to etch a nanostructure on the metal itself. It will not wear off, like current less effective methods.

The applications can be revolutionary: From the construction of airplane surfaces—which will avoid water freezing of the fuselage—to non-stick pans to phones to computers to TVs to cars to whatever you can imagine made of metal. They are also thinking of applying the technique to create 100-percent efficient water recollection systems in underdeveloped countries and the creation of latrines in areas where water is not abundant enough to allow for effective cleaning.

But it gets even better: The lead scientist says that 'the structures created by their laser on the metals are intrinsically part of the material surface' so they will not disappear over time, like current chemical coatings do.

Here's Guo in a explanatory video along with the co-writer of the study, Anatoliy Vorobyev, who is a professor at the University of Rochester's Institute of Optics.

I have to admit, this is pretty cool

A Guy Built a Drone That Looks Like the Millennium Falcon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpvIU8i0khs

Some guy built a remote control drone that looks like the Millennium Falcon.  And now "Star Wars" fans are going NUTS over the videos he posted on YouTube.

He also posted step-by-step instructions on how to build one of your own on the website RCGroups.com.

Glow: The First Smart Headphones with Laser Light

This looks cool, but it remains to be seen how the headphones sound. Also, I'm not a fan of in-the-ear buds. If they make Over-the-Ear Headphones and they sound great, then this would definitely be something I'd buy.
