This is so cool. Who’d thunk a blending of orchestra and Drones. This just may be the new 4th of July.

The coolness starts at 45 seconds.

Spent the last fifteen minutes toying with this Cycloid Drawing Machine.  Love that "FF to the end" button feature, it's hypnotic to watch.

We all heard about that robot Go player who literally achieved god-like status, but here's an article talking about what that really means.  Something I've known has been coming for a while, but now seems incredibly close: Deep Learning means that NO human job is safe.  Fascinating.  And definitely implies that we're about to undergo a massive societal shift.  But if there's any silver lining, it'll be that the robots will figure out that new society for us... and pretty quickly.

Man makes-himself-his-very-own-life-sized-robot

We all know what he is doing to that poor robot. Scarlett Johansson should definitely be creeped-out.

Wow, 50K for that?

Not impressed one bit. Actually feel sorry for this lowly geek. Wasting time and money. Eh, to each their own.

Gizmodo's review of LG's $8000 OLED TV.

While that's probably out of our price range, what I found interesting in the article is the colour capability in this thing, and THAT I can imagine trickling down to lower cost sets and monitors in the future.  As someone who likes to watch movies at home, I had no idea the amount of colour detail and so on that I was missing (though I think most movies and TV shows are made for the formats we alreadyhave, not the next one, which Daredevil sounds like).  So maybe it's not as big an issue as I thought, for now.  But I still found it fascinating.

Shouldn't this be in our TV thread?

Ohhhh this is so DOPE!  Tell me you don't want this kind of gear in your place!  It's too bad this is the kind of stuff that doesn't come down in price enough to be affordable to the everyman.

We're entering the age of the hologram.

Dang, that's insane.  Look at that stuff just appear like it's the freakin' holodeck.   Mac, what you were talkin' about in the virtual holiday space, this is it!

That was fascinating. Yes, that is what I was thinking. I can only imagine the Occulus will improve to be less bulky. More like glasses.

Also that VR world could be so it enticing, it could be addictive. Why face the real world when you could 'live' this imaginary world. I'm thinking Wall-E. One of my huge concerns today are people obsessed with starring down at their phone into a pseudo-virtual world.

There maybe more cons.

But the potential for interesting, creative avenues could be explosive. Again, the balance with adding value to our lives vs. controlling it.

Today Show had a piece on drones climbing in popularity. One company proposing the delivery of morning coffee.

While I was rolling my eyes, one thing, no two things, struck me. First the skies would be filled with drones. Second, these things are not quiet. I'm just not seeing this 'business' taking off.
