I'm not surprised at this. I've always believed it was going on. I still cannot reconcile in my mind what these priests are thinking. I cannot connect the dots in their relationship with God. How does the Vatican? Is the whole religion a front and they don't believe in their own teachings and faith?

Documents show Milwaukee archdiocese shielded ped-ophile priests

Quote
Roman Catholic Church officials in Milwaukee vigorously shielded **** priests and protected church funds from lawsuits during a decades-long sex abuse scandal, according to hundreds of newly released documents.

The documents include letters and deposition testimony from Cardinal and Archbishop of New York Timothy Dolan who, during his time as archbishop of Milwaukee from 2002 to 2009, appealed to Vatican on numerous occasions to help address the ongoing fallout from the scandal.

The 6,000 pages of documents related to eight decades of abuse cases showed in great detail the Milwaukee archdiocese regularly reassigned priests who were accused of sexual molestation to new parishes and Dolan himself asking the Vatican permission to transfer $57 million to a trust fund to protect it against court action.

In 2011, the Milwaukee archdiocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, citing the financial drain of settling sexual-abuse claims and acknowledging missteps by the church in dealing with **** priests.

The judge overseeing the archdiocese's bankruptcy ordered the documents to be released.

The Roman Catholic Church has been hit with a series of abuse accusations and scandals during the past two decades, in the United States and elsewhere. The scandals have cost the U.S. church about $3 billion in settlements and driven prominent dioceses such as the one in Milwaukee, into bankruptcy.

One document is a letter that Dolan sent to the Vatican in June 2007 requesting permission to move $57 million into a cemetery trust fund in order to protect the funds from "any legal claim and liability." The Vatican approved the transfer a month later, according to the documents.

During a news conference on Monday, Jeff Anderson, an attorney representing more than 500 abuse victims, said the money was to be used to "pay off some of the offenders to quietly go away."

Dolan disagreed with the characterization of the fund in a statement released on Monday. He said it was a "perpetual care fund" from for cemeteries, not an attempt to shield money from bankruptcy.

Milwaukee is the eighth American diocese to declare bankruptcy, with the first three filed in 2004 in Portland, Oregon; Tucson, Arizona; and Spokane, Washington.

The documents also showed that when Dolan, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the nation's most prominent Roman Catholic official, asked the Vatican to remove priests, it was slow to respond.

In September 2003, Dolan informed the Vatican of abuse by Reverend John O'Brien, who sent a resignation letter to Pope John Paul II a month before, according to the documents.

In November 2003, when he had received no response, records show that Dolan followed up with more two accounts of abuse on the part of O'Brien, according to a document.

It was not until April 2009, that O'Brien was removed from the priesthood.

Documents also show the Milwaukee archdiocese transferring **** priests instead of removing them from the church.

In one such case, Reverend Raymond Adamsky received counseling and was transferred to 11 parishes in 34 years before being sent to serve as nursing home chaplain with restrictions on contact with minors, after he was accused of molestation in 1961 and then again in 1983, the documents show.

The documents also detail the Milwaukee archdiocese, on a regular basis, requested priests accused of abuse be laicized, a process in which they are stripped of their powers and duties.

As part of their laicization, priests such as O'Brien were paid $10,000 to start the process and $10,000 during the process and, in some cases, $1,250 per month for health and dental insurance, according to the documents. I thought I already commented on this. Yeah, totally agree....he's beyond dumb. Anyone that wants someone like this representing him obviously doesn't care what the outcome of their trial is and should just forego the Trial, plead guilty and save the Taxpayer's money.

Fail Fail Fail

Good gawd, if your the man that uses this service, you are idiot. Period.

Ladies, if your man uses this service, then you will have serious problems.

Forget wedding planners: Proposal planners now for hire

Quote
There’s a whole industry around weddings: planners, decorators, florists, and photographers all work with brides and grooms in order to make the big day special. But what about before the wedding?

Enter the newest trend in the wedding world: Companies who can help you create special, one-of-a-kind marriage proposals.

Heather Vaughn is the founder of YES Girls, a company in Southern California that has organized more than 250 proposals. But she’s not the only one – there are now companies all over the country that work to create memorable proposals, including everything from renting private helicopters to spelling out a woman’s name in lights.

Tim Dorsett, an Air Force veteran, hired the YES Girls to help him pop the question to his girlfriend, Sonia.

“I think a girl or woman’s dream is first her prom date, her proposal, and then her marriage,” he said. “So those are the three things that are most important to them, and I wanted to make it special.”

The planners helped him pull it off with memorable touches like an eight-piece band and Sonia’s name written in lights. Luckily, after all that work, she loved the surprise and said yes.

Anja Winikka, site director of the wedding website TheKnot.com, says the game has changed when it comes to proposals.

“You used to have the classic bended knee proposal at dinner,” she said.

Now, Winikka points out, social media has increased pressure on men to come up with memorable proposals. It’s much more common these days for couples to capture the big moment in a YouTube video and share it online with their friends, only to watch it go viral.

Others share photos of the ring on Facebook, garnering tons of “likes” and comments from loved ones.

“We’re seeing how everyone else is getting elaborately proposed to, and we want it too,” Winikka adds.

The YES Girls are well aware of social media and often incorporate it into their planned proposals. The company’s Twitter and Instagram feeds feature lots of huge, sparkly rings and happy couples.

And the business is a lucrative one – although the basic proposal package costs $199, the average YES Girls proposal runs in the $2,500 range, once costs like venue rentals and permits are added in. Still, that’s nothing compared to the price of a wedding.

The only downside to a custom proposal?

As our own Gabe Gutierrez points out, think of the bar you’ve just set for your first anniversary!

Brilliant idea! I'm gonna start my own company called Honeymoon Inc. where I provide services that include f*cking the Bride on her most special night so that the newly wed groom can watch TV or whatever because he is either lazy or doesn't have the ability to close the deal.

Worst Interview Ever?! Fox News Embarrassed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3524tTVAcY

Lauren Green just got schooled BIG TIME and on a Live Broadcast no less. She was OWNED, OWNED, OWNED, OWNED! This is just another prime example why I don't watch FOX News. Regardless of my faith background, I just loved that Reza shut her down with such precision and never giving her a way out of putting her foot further down her own throat, all without ever having to lose his cool. Well played. Game. Set. Match.

Jesus book hits No. 1 in wake of viral Fox News interview

Quote
After facing a controversial line of questioning in a Fox News interview online, religious scholar Reza Aslan saw sales of his new book about Jesus shoot past works by mega-selling authors J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin to No. 1 on the Amazon best-seller list.

In an interview with religion reporter Lauren Green on FoxNews.com on July 26 about his book “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth,” Aslan was repeatedly asked why he wrote a book about Christianity since he is a Muslim.

“It’s not that I’m some Muslim writing about Jesus,’’ Aslan answered when first asked. “I am an expert with a Ph.D. in the history of religions.”

Green continued asking versions of the same question throughout the 10-minute interview, with Aslan repeatedly providing similar answers such as “I am a historian,’’ and “I’m not sure what my faith has to do with my 20 years of study of the New Testament.” He also noted that his wife and mother are both Christians.

The interview went viral, and Aslan's book shot to the top of the Amazon.com best-seller list. Meanwhile, Green’s interview was criticized in The American Conservative magazine as “cringe-worthy,” “ignorant,” and “breathtakingly incurious.”

“For any writer or thinker to have inadvertently launched such a public discussion is about the best thing you can hope for,’’ Aslan said in an NBC News report that aired on TODAY Wednesday.

Green’s line of questioning also somewhat obscured some potentially controversial claims in Aslan’s book, which alleges that Jesus was not born in Bethlehem and was hardly God-like. “What little we know about him paints him as really an illiterate peasant from the backwoods of Galilee,’’ Aslan said in the NBC News report. “This man was able to gather people to him not because of his education but because of his charisma, because of the power of his message.”

During the interview with Green, Aslan referred to Jesus as a “troublemaker.”

“It’s the fact that he was such a troublemaker that I think makes him so compelling,’’ Aslan said in the segment that aired Wednesday.

Aslan also has drawn some criticism from a conservative commentator saying that his claim that he is a historian is inaccurate because none of his four degrees are in history. Aslan told NBC that three of his degrees are in religion, including his PhD, which qualifies him to write about religious history.

This is just shameful... people are becoming lemmings. Or have we always been?

"Well OK, I'll sign it, because whatever you just said sounds fine"... and then the cold hearted folks that do know what they are signing. Seriously folks, wake up and know what you're signing. This could apply for anything really. Jay Leno's been doing this for awhile I believe. And this guy doing this experiment is very clear. He is making an excellent point.

People Of All Ages Sign Petition For Mandatory Euthanasia For Senior Citizens Under Obamacare

Quote
Media analyst and author Mark Dice heads out to see if Californians will sign a petition for mandatory euthanasia program for seniors and terminally ill people in order to cut costs in Obamacare. Some of these people are the most calloused people I’ve ever seen. Dice asks random people if they’ll sign a petition for “mandatory” euthanasia provision in Obama Care to help keep healthcare costs down by putting senior citizens to sleep. There was a bright light in the midst of it as one man and apparently another woman actually realized what was being pushed. The rest of the people simply demonstrate the mind-numbed robots living in our society. This should be a wakeup call to all Americans, especially our seniors and those with terminally ill diseases.

Man, we have been seeing these kinds of news stories a lot lately. In my mind, it's simple, you commit a crime no matter how minimal, there are unknown consequences. Sure, he should have not died from a tazer tag... but he he did. If he wasn't there doing the crime, none of this would have happened.

I guess what really gets my goat are those, in particular, family and friends, that question the process of the cops. Really? That's the debate? How about being a thug and criminal. Family? Friends? Responsibility?

Florida teen who died in custody after being Tasered leaves family with questions

Quote
A Miami Beach, Fla., teenager who died in police custody after he was Tasered has left his family grieving and his community asking if his death could have been prevented.

Israel Hernandez-Llach, 18, was spotted vandalizing private property in Miami Beach with graffiti by police officers on Tuesday morning at 5:14 a.m. local time, according to a statement from police. Hernandez ran from officers, who chased him on foot. When they caught up to him a block later, Hernandez allegedly ignored officers' commands to stop running, and an officer Tasered him and arrested him.

Once he was in custody, Hernandez-Llach "displayed signs of medical duress," according to the police statement. He was transported to Miami Beach's Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a police report.

The death of the Miami Beach Senior High student, known for his artistic achievements — including a congressional honor from Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz for his art, according to sister Offir Hernandez-Llach, who spoke to NBC Miami — prompted his family to hire attorneys. The attorneys said they were calling for outside agencies to investigate the case.

"We don't know exactly what happened in this case, and we want to make sure we know with absolute certainty what did happen, and for that reason, we would like it to be an outside law enforcement agency," Jose Javier Rodriguez said earlier in the week, NBC Miami reported.

Miami Beach police would not comment to NBC News on the case beyond their statement, which says an investigation into the incident is open and ongoing. Autopsy and toxicolgy test results for the teen are also still pending. Hernandez-Llach did not have any other injuries, police said.

"The City of Miami Beach would like to extend their condolences to the family of Israel Hernandez," Police Chief Raymond A. Martinez said in the statement.

On Thursday evening, tensions escalated at a vigil in Miami Beach to honor Hernandez-Llach.

Supporters of Hernandez-Llach chanted "No justice, no peace!" in front of the abandoned storefront where Hernandez had spray-painted gold graffiti during the early dawn hours on Tuesday before police saw him, NBC Miami reported. Police were forced to move in to control the crowd, the station reported.

The demonstrators on Thursday echoed a sentiment expressed earlier in the week expressed by Hernandez's sister.

"We'll appreciate it very much if you can support [us], because art is nothing to be killed for," Offir Hernandez-Llach said.
