I believe this is what gun advocates are striving for. And honestly, I have to agree. Having everyone own a gun, definitely would cut down this kind of crap...

Man shot attempting to rob group waiting to buy LeBron James sneakers

Quote
A Georgia man attempting to rob a group of people waiting in line to buy LeBron James' newly released sneakers was killed after one of the men he was robbing pulled out a gun, according to Atlanta police.

The group was waiting in line early Saturday morning to buy the LeBron X Denim sneakers when a man approached with a gun and attempted to rob them, according to police. Witnesses told authorities that one of the customers had a concealed weapon and shot and killed the man.

Undercover Investigation Explores How Easily Guns Are Sold in US

Very good look into just how easy it is to buy a gun. Biggest shock was seeing how easy they actually got a hold of a .50 Cal Rifle. Sheesh. Scary stuff.

Actually, I'm leaning the other way. Folks around here talk about all the places that say, you cannot bring a gun into.

Well guess what, that makes the place more desirable for a lunatic to go to and start shooting up folks. It's when you don't know if guns are present that those lunatics might think twice. Those playgrounds, I now doubt will have some bad crap go down.

And we have to know that those folks that are bringing in the guns legally are doing it for safety. I don't think any kind of big gun showdown happens at these places.

You can't think it's okay to bring Guns into a bar do you? Too many fights break out over the dumbest things. Add in alcohol and adrenaline and that's a recipe for disaster.

My gut reaction... it would be a disaster for a bar. Alcohol does strange things to folks.
Yet at the same time I could imagine a bar, with all the guys caring guns. Drunk or not, I find it hard for someone to think using a gun with 30 guns within feet of you would ever dream of pulling something like that. Like real life fists fights (vs. Hollywood), they only last seconds. A big shoot out in a bar is not going to happen.

They were talking around here about an incident at a Denny's. 5 cops are regular patrons and come in uniform. Some people 'freaked' out about them carrying side arms into the place. Raised a big stink. Did not want any part of that.

Around these parts, I once thought like that.

Put some more thought into it. Deeper. These guys are cops. They are trained. They know how to use it. They are safety. In the whole context of things, I couldn't think of a more secure safe situation. Why would these police be of any risk or harm by showing up with guns. They are not going to use them. Just because an individual feels uncomfortable seeing a gun, that's on person for that unfounded uncomfortableness.

Cops are one thing, strangers with concealed weapons is something entirely different. You know what you're getting with a Cop (for the most part), but with strangers, you have no idea of their background or mindset. Maybe that person had a sh*tty day at work, maybe their girlfriend dumped them and they are drinking their blues away, maybe that same person just got rejected by some chick at the end of the bar. Way too many variables for me to even begin to feel secure in an environment like that. Sure, most people are responsible, but all it takes is that one match to set off something deadly.

I just hope that California does not adopt this new law / bill.

Drunk Man Shoots Himself In Head During Gun Safety Demo

What the F*ck! Yes, wrong thread.....and yet it belongs here. Seriously, what kind of "expert" even does something as dumb as pointing it at one's own head? You can say booze is the blame, but I think he would have done something like this anyway because owners (most, not all) kind of feel empowered owning a gun and therefore become careless, especially when "showing off" to someone else. In this case.....his girlfriend.
