So as you may have heard, the Republicans voted at one in the morning on cutting key parts of the ACA, including pre-existing conditions and keeping children on their parents' plans.
And why? Well, a report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities points out that
the repeal would be a tax cut of about $7 million dollars a year to the 400 highest-income households in the US. And a tax increase for everyone else. On top of making it far more difficult to get health insurance.
I'm amazed that between this, private prison, hydrofracking, that there isn't a consistent message from the opposition: "Your suffering is their profit." You want a simple message? That's it. I've said it before and I've said it again, the current state of the Republican Party sees America as a piggy bank and gov't as the hammer.
