FYI, I've been saying Neumatic was a star for years. But no one listens to me.

Oh, they updated the story with my appearance, so... enjoy my shrill voice and emaciated arms, I guess.  Oh, side thought: we were in a freakin' library, so few people in line bothered to pick up a book.  That was depressing.

Didn't see the debate.  What was the point?  I voted.  Hopefully it made a difference.  Besides, I can't follow the debates on TV, I can't hear them clearly, the captions are delayed by about a minute, and they don't say anything of substance or value.  Screw that, my time's valuable.

FBI looking into new Clinton emails

This is a HUGE bombshell. There has to be something 'there' for the FBI to announce they are reopening the case against Clinton after the fiasco of Comey. She needs to start measuring for her Jumpsuit for the Big House and not Curtains for the White House.

Nonsense.  Makes for a great headline, and lots of anxiety and "Breaking News!" in the final 11 days of the election, but it is straight up NOT what is happening.

Quote
The FBI, in other words, is not reexamining its previous findings. It is not questioning its previous legal conclusion that “no reasonable prosecutor” could determine that charges are warranted. Based on the letter, it appears that the FBI will simply provide the same scrutiny to these newly uncovered emails as it previously applied to the emails it already reviewed when it determined that criminal charges are not warranted.

They're NOT reopening the case, because they don't know what's in the new e-mails.  They're just announcing that they HAVE them, and they MIGHT be pertinent, but it will take time to figure that out and they don't know how long it will take.  It's an announcement of boring, clinical work that could result in something, but probably won't, and became public knowledge b/c it deals with a public figure that people cant' shut up about.

This isn't nearly as big a deal as it seems.  Think of Clinton's possible trial as a movie, this isn't even a trailer, this is the announcement of the trailer.  it's the announcement of Christian Bale playing Steve Jobs.  That's how far removed this news is from what you think it is.

You're right, they are not reopening it because the case was never closed. It was an ongoing case that was "winding down". They found the new emails by way of Anthony Weiner's sexting investigation, which in itself pulls Huma Abedin back into the hot seat, which pulls Cheryl Mills, which.... Even if nothing comes of this, the optics are horrible and will do more damage to her campaign regardless how the DNC tries to spin this.

I saw that, I love it.  It's very cute, which is a nice change of pace from nasty.

How, how, f*cking how is she not indicted.

What is Comey doing? Seriously.

And finally this one thing should be slam dunk for Trump. Any of the other candidates would and could have just nailed her to the wall. But Trump... nope, he lets stuff slide.

Clinton E-mail Scandal Timeline.

Unfortunately, a possible scenario is, Clinton gets elected, and the following years will be investigations and possible impeachment.

We are all saying "Can't wait until this over". Yes, all this crap in the news, the campaigns, the news. BUT, it's not the end. Whoever gets in, will the beginning of just more bad things for the American public.

The Republican Party has been screwed for a long time.  That's how they got stuck with Trump.  They did nothing for eight years of Obama but throw tantrums, refuse to work, made their whole mission "nuh uh," and now they're paying for it.  Won't get any tears from me.  What sucks is that outside of some blue dog Democrats, proper conservatives don't have representation, and that does suck because we get better government and better solutions when we have more distinct voices coming together.

And now, here's Lawfare Blog answering legal questions about the whole e-mail mess.

As aggravating as all this stuff is, imagine how frustrating it'll be in 20 years time time to history students with ZERO context.  You're lucky you're an old man, my generation is gonna have a horrible time explaining the present to our grandkids.

"So you knew cigarettes were poisonous but inhaled them anyway?" "Yep."
"So you knew that the world was being cooked but didn't do anything about it?" "Yep."
"So you knew football was giving athletes brain damage and you didn't do anything?" "Right."
"So you put computers in everything and connected them all without any firewalls so any idiot could hack them?" "Couldn't do it fast enough."
"Trump?" "I'm still trying to wrap my head around that."

Some light heartedness before we get swamped with Russia stuff...  Samantha Bee suggests that Donald Trump can't read.
