Rolling Stone has a very nice... and quite frankly, extremely welcome article about The Clinton Outrage Machine and how it's taken over the media.  I'm exhausted by this, and the idea of four to eight years of this fills me with dread.  Even though it's preferable to the alternative, I keep finding myself hoping that everyone else is as tired of it as I am, and if it will finally burn out and disappear.  I doubt it.  It's hard to recompose and get serious after utter farce.

Interesting piece.

It's not going to end. This will continue to cycle again.

Every night I go to bed with the knowledge that when I wake up early in the morning, I have Wikileaks to look forward to. Each day is something bigger than the previous day. That noose is getting tighter and tighter around Clinton's neck (both of them). They are toast. It's not even a question of whether she wins or not anymore. It's when they WILL BE charged.

Twilight of the Trump Surrogates

As frustrating as it was to watch Drumpf implode on the air every time someone would air it live, I actually had more issues with his Surrogates. One of the things I have been looking forward to regarding Election Day is the fact that I hopefully will never have to see anyone of these guys ever again. They are entertaining to watch at times, but boy, do they make people dumb by way of osmosis, just by listening to them. Of all of them, Katrina was and is heads and shoulders the absolute worse of the bunch.

Gentlemen, board members, my fellow Americans, FiveThrityEight presents us with The Perfect Stump Speech.  Specially designed to appeal to everyone and say nothing of substance.  And lots of little notes about how it's done.

I just woke up this morning to the news that Clinton's own House Maid was handling Top Secret Documents (i.e. printing out pages via fax) for her to make her life "easier". What the f*ck! Normally I would say that this has to be 'maid up' (Rim Shot).

But given how nutty and f*cked up this Election Cycle has been, I wouldn't put it pass Clinton to do this.

The Atlantic has a helpful Clinton Scandal Primer, which was published earlier today.

Quote
This is a pattern with the Clinton family, which has been in the public spotlight since Bill Clinton’s first run for office, in 1974: Something that appears potentially scandalous on its face turns out to be innocuous, but an investigation into it reveals different questionable behavior.

So, with this sixteen thousand year long election cycle finally wrapping up, and with the general unfavourability of both candidates, MotherBoard ponders an issue that I'd been pondering in some of my sci-fi work: Society is too complicated to have a President

I've often wondered how, in the information age and given how interconnected everything is, butterfly effect in real time, we're supposed to think or lead ourselves.  Would we be comfortable letting a machine figure this stuff out?  Would that still be democracy?  Would we still have freedom?  We could vote on the important values and goals we have, let the computer figure out the most ideal courses of actions, and vote for that.  Or we could have like a controller-in-chief, who interfaces with the machine on behalf of the country.  How much would we automate?  How little?  How could we avoid becoming that planet from the episode of Star Trek that just had wars going on for thousands of years in the computers, but requiring real casualties?

Election Day is here. This has been a long road. I'm numb to it all and yet I'll be glued to the TV all day because this is the biggest decision the American people will have to make and I'm curious who they want: A thieving lying corrupt life-long politician or someone with tiny hands. This will be must-see TV like you've never seen before. Think about it, the entire Planet will be watching today/tonight.

Chip, this one's for you: Samantha Bee discusses and reads Hillary's e-mails on her show.

This is pretty much what I expected the e-mails to be, but they're somehow dumber than I thought they could be.  My favourite?  "Gefilte fish: where are we on this?"

I'm not nuts about the 69% chance of Republican Senate victory, since it'll no doubt lead to four more years of obstructionist nonsense, but I can't say I'm too surprised.  George Bush Sr evidently left the President line blank and just voted straight R down-ticket and I suspect we'll get a lot of that.  In addition, it seems as though a lot of those loudmouth pepe the frog 4channers, the most vocal Trump supporters, and the ones who do things like photoshop the faces of people they disagree with into gas ovens, aren't voting b/c they didn't realize they had to register first and early.

This is a tight race for sure. Tighter than I thought it would be. I keep switching back from Fox News and CNN and they way they are covering it is laughable on the part of CNN, who has zero credibility given the whole DNC/Brazil/Debate Question fiasco. It's like CNN is purposely trying to misrepresent the Polls in her favor, whereas Fox seems to be sticking to the actual numbers as they come in. Regardless, this is a nail-biter. The down-ballot race is also getting interesting as well.

NBC is constantly working stats, to the point of micro world of comparing distracts from 4 years ago?
I don't get that. Nothing about this election year is comparable.
