um, what's up with the way they display the video. A 1/3 middle clear and out of focus the other 2/3?

Some of the Cell Camera take video in vertical format. So when you see any news doing the blurred edges, it's basically takes the video and lays them side by side and then blurring to far left and far right videos. This is so that there is no black or empty spaces on either side.

That's not it...

Watching the Redneck Rage news story, they do the same thing. I've seen the video on youtube and it's got the wide format. This show is deliberately blurring the outside.

Well it does apply to the vertical format as I've seen it done countless times for that very reason. As for why they would do it with a full format video......I have no clue.

It just frustrated me. Watching the Riot Cop video... all I saw was the women tumbling over. Couldn't make out in the blur the cop doing his thing.

I don't think any of these acrobatic performance shows have even bothered to use nets of any kind for years because that's a selling point. They want to push the envelope and plant the seed in people's minds that "anything can happen at any given time". Stupid, yes. But it is what it is, all in the name of making a buck.
