No seriously, that's the point. You don't have to be smart, the TV does and it does things for you. We are approaching Star Trek very quickly.

What I'm reading coming down the pike is opening up so many options. Talking to the tv, really? My blu-ray alone has all kinds of options I haven't explored yet. TVs will now start upping the ante. Good luck, your choices are going to be wide open

Wait a second? Now it's going to be socially acceptable to talk to the TV? I've been talking to my.....well, more like yelling at the TV and always got a disapproving look from those around me.

My Sony Bravia 52" is giving me trouble. Suddenly I lost the output from the TV speakers. I've had this TV for awhile off and on. Beautiful picture.

So I try everything including a reset. Nada.

I call "Bob" at Sony's customer Service. After 5 minutes of waiting for Bob to hunt down the troubleshooting guide, I get "Unplug from the power for 2 Minutes"... Nada. OK, that's all we got, call a TV repair place. Here's some numbers.

DICK's

I can still watch the TV (using my surround) with DVD's and Netflix. Just not regular local TV.

I think I can fix that by routing some wires from the TV to the receiver.

After Bob's suggestion to take it in to be repaired, I researched and found out apparently the Bravia just sucks. People have it way worse than me with bad screens. And Sony is staying mum about help.

I just hope my TV hangs in there. It was damn expensive.

But the moral of the story... DON'T BUY SONY  >:(

My TV is about to crap out. The writing is on the wall. I've had this one in particular for well over 14 years. It's a Wega and never had a problem with it until a couple of months ago. Suddenly it was taking longer and longer for it to "warm up" for it to turn on. It started with a few minutes and then 15 minutes and then half an hour for it to give me any kind of picture. Last couple of weeks it takes 2 hours. Sheesh. But once it's up, it's like it's Brand New. Like I said, my TV doesn't have that many days left. I will ride it till the very end. I actually started looking at new TV's last week preparing for the inevitable so that I have an idea of what interest me. Glad to know that the prices of newer Flat Screen TV's have dropped drastically. Not sure what brand I will go with, but as you said, I won't be going anywhere near Sony.

I'm cheap. As soon as the next fad is 'Liquid TV's', that's when I'm all over Curved TV's. ;D
