So for complete mindless fun and zero value but to please my visual senses, I ordered the HypnoCube
So I got this baby and it is exactly what I thought. It is kind of hypnotizing. And it looks way better in darker rooms. Duh.
I didn’t tell my wife. I let her discover it on her own. She ‘really’ liked it. She likes shiny things. Until I told her how much it costs. She could not justify getting one for herself in her office.
But I planted the seed. I’m slowly figuring that out.
Another seed I planted is my wife doesn’t like wood. She’s a contemporary interior designer and wood is not only foreign but kind of frowned on. She asked me to get rid of everything I had made of wood, which was just about everything. I still maintain the benefits of wood, so we have back and forth on some items. For instance our new bed has now some wood. Granted it’s painted black and pretty much defeats the point, but it is a seed.
The other seed I planted is an Adirondack chair. These are the classic and iconic chairs you see on porches and lawns. They are deceivingly comfortable. I’ve mentioned them several times I would like a few on our deck or patio. Since she saw they are made of wood and about as un-contemporary as you can get, she never bought into it.
Until she sat in a nice one on our vacation. The seed was planted.
Now she is considering them, especially since she saw they can be painted in any color, particularly in bright colors.
It just takes some time I guess on some things.
