X-Men: First Class is a good Superhero movie as well as being overall good movie. Unforntunately, for a Superhero movie I do expect to be WOW'd, and I just wasn't at all. The Set pieces weren't all that impressive when compared to more recent films in the same genre. If you have ever seen any of the other 3 X-Men films, this 4th installment takes place before any of those. The movie is basically an origin film where we see how Professor X meets up with Magneto and forms the nucleus of what would become known to the wold as X-Men. All the actors did a great job and the story itself was good in that it takes places in the 60's during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I even enjoyed the fact that they kept all the gadgets retro, befitting the time that they were in, so everything felt in place as it should be.

The best moments in the movie for me were the cameos by Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. These were uncredited cameos, so it was a pleasant surprise for me when they both appeared in separate scenes.

This is definitely worth a Rent.

This has nothing to do with the movie, but still ties into Rebecca Romijn and Mystique.
