S.W.A.T. - Widescreen Special Edition

This has got to be hands down, one of the most boring "Action" pictures ever created. Whoever wrote this needs to be shot....or at least go back to Screenwriting Class and learn the basics of what an Action picture entails. The premise is actually pretty good and it was what sold me on seeing this in the first place after watching the trailer. But that's all this is....a good premise that fails in execution. It's a pretty interesting concept to have an International Terrorist or whatever he is (this was unclear in the movie) to offer a reward of $100 Million to anyone that can break him out of Prison/Police custody. So naturally all of LA would be swarming all over this "S.W.A.T." team in hopes of hitting their payday.

Sadly, this even fails to deliver. The plot is pretty thin and goes a long way to explain why the entire movie's goal doesn't even present itself until after the 1 hour mark. Noithing, and I mean absolutely nothing happens for the first hour at all, The characters are boring, they do all sorts of training exercises which aren't even impressive by Hollywood standards. I want my time back. What a waste and you'd think that a cast with Sam Jackson, Michelle Rodriguez, LL Cool J and Colin Farrell would make this somewhat entertaining. Think again.

Going into this movie, S.W.A.T. stands for Special Weapons And Tactics. After watching this it now means So What, Another Turd. Skip at all cost.
