Back in the day I thought The Score was a kick ass heist flick. But the thing about this type of genre is that the more you watch the same movie, the more it loses the initial charm of the job. It has to have other things going for it other than the preparation and the job or else there isn't anything else to hang your hat on. That's why I think a movie like Ocean's Eleven (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/ocean's-eleven/msg5663/#msg5663) will always succeed no matter how many times you see it. It has a lot to play with. It's got comedy and a bigger cast of characters to spread around. It gives you more is what I'm saying.

In The Score it comes down to just Nick Wells (Robert De Niro) and Jack Teller (Edward Norton) to anchor the entire film. Angela Bassett who plays Diane and Marlon Brando who plays Max are also in the film but are hardly there to begin with. So usually when it's a career safe cracker that works alone that suddenly has to work one last job with a partner, you absolutely know what's coming. I won't say anything else so as not to ruin it for those that have yet to see it. But when you start watching the movie, you know exactly where the movie is going.

I can easily recommend this as a Rent. Just because I've given it 4 Stars doesn't make it bad in any phases of the movie. My rating reflects that I have seen this movie countless times and it's lost some of its shine for me over the years. But hey, if I am still watching it after all these years, it's gotta be good right? I will say this, that of the 3 heavyweight actors in the film, this one is all Ed Norton, especially when he transforms into his 'alias' Brian which is pretty amazing to see.

Yea, I watched this once and loved it. I would think watching it again, would just be passing my time.  :-\
