The Green Hornet is a big misfire for me. I never thought I would ever even bother to check this out, especially after getting a taste for this when the original Trailer hit 2 years ago. I thought the comedy was just too much in just the trailer alone. The closest I thought I would ever get anywhere near this movie was the Black Beauty that I got to check out in person a couple years back at the San Diego Comic Con (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/comic-books-and-art/comic-con-2011-(july-21-24)/msg155/#msg155). Well, against my better judgement and no other movie to Rent, I decided I'd go for it and give it a chance.

Um, my gut instinct about this the first time around was the right one. This just isn't a good movie. The took a cool concept and character(s) and made them look pretty damn foolish. I don't have a problem with Seth Rogen in a lot of the films he is in. He is usually the right choice for whatever role he is in. But in this one, totally not the way to go. But, what do you expect when he also writes the script? Of course he is going to cast himself in the lead role. It's funny that even with him writing it, he basically makes The Green Hornet a secondary character in his own movie. Kato had the more interesting screen time of the two. But the real star of this movie is in fact the Black Beauty. I thought the final confrontation at the end, especially with the Black Beauty getting a work out was pretty good. As a whole, the film is way too cartoonish and almost a joke.

Gotta say this is a Skip.

I knew from the announcement this was gonna be bad. Then the trailer did nothing but confirm. When I happened to pick it up from the library, I could not get past 30 minutes.

Fail, fail, fail

Well, I don't want to say the Green Hornet was always the secondary character, but everyone remembers Bruce Lee and who can expect to outshine Bruce Lee?  And it is kind of enviable that this makes the main character in this high-concept hihg-budget an unknown ASIAN actor we hadn't seen in movies before in the West.

I like Rogen too and I kinda like the idea of him in this role just because he's so unqualified to do it, my problem was more that he was treating everyone in the movie like ****.  It made it hard to like him.
