The tile refers to the amount of money that Walt figures he needs to make selling Meth for his family to live on comfortably after he is gone. This is going to be one long crazy dangerous ride getting to that number. This episode literally picks up where the Season Finale of Season 1 (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/breaking-bad-(season-1-2008)/msg11717/#msg11717) left off at. The entire episode is basically about paranoia in thinking that Tuco will have both Walt and Jesse whacked because they are loose ends...witnesses' to Tuco killing one of his own men. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as Tuco takes both of them hostage and drive off in the middle of the night......

Great episode and there was one stand out scene involving Skyler tearing Hank and new  a s s h o l e . She was great.

Grilled was awesome. The entire episode was INTENSE! With Walt and Jesse being held hostage and looking for a way out, they try to poison Tuco. But leave it up to Tuco's invalid father and his bell to make me sweat bullets. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time just waiting for something to go down. And then the way it ends....damn! Hank shows up looking for Jesse and his car and instead finds a bleeding Tuco, courtesy of Jesse and a big rock by the way. The shootout was gnarly. The kicker is that you hear the father ringing the bell over and over during the end credits. Haha. Just a fantastic episode all around.

I was wondering how Walt was going to explain away where he had been for the last couple of days without giving away that he was held hostage by a psychotic, deranged lunatic. Pretty clever 'out' that he came up with in creating an alibi by having be "discovered" wandering a supermarket naked. Also pretty clever in how Jesse created his own alibi too. I thought Walt had managed to fool everyone and was in the clear. Totally forgot about the 2nd Cell phone and when Skylar brings it up at the end....BUSTED.

One thing that I really dig about this show, besides the awesome writing and characters, is that each episode literally picks up where the last episode left off at and it makes sense if you think about what Walt is going through. He only has some much time left on this Earth because of his illness, so it makes sense that we are tracking every single moment leading up to the inevitable end.

Skyler is not stupid. She can smell the bullsh*t that Walt is shoveling about not just the cell phone, but about his disappearances as of late. This leads to Skyler's passive aggressive retaliation of not talking to him, shutting him out and basically staying out of her own house leaving him to deal with the lies he keeps trying to convince her of. It's a slow boil that reaches its eruption at the end when she finally confronts him. This is only half of the equation. We get a much more violent outburst when Jesse, who has shown up at Walt's house, lterally covered in sh*t, stealing back his RV full of cook materials after being rendered homeless by his own parents.

The confrontation between Jesse and Walt was epic. You could see where this was going given the fact that Jesse really can't or won't listen to simple instructions of staying away. Incredible episode.

This one is basically a  p i s s i n g  contest between Walt and Jesse over who is going to run the business now. Each has their ideas of how things should run, but in the end it's Jesse that assumes control of their little endeavor. I know this is just a fictional show, and these are characters that the writers have created for my amusement, but there is no way in hell I would make a claim of how to run a business and then turn around and entrust the success of said business to 3 meth heads. Really? You're going to give 3 junkies all that meth and trust them not to smoke it up among themselves? Of course one of them gets rolled by a client which means he is out of both the money and the product. But Jesse has it in his head that this is 'breakage', acceptable losses. Not to Walt, which leads him to finally stepping in and making sure that Jesse makes an example out of the junkie or it will be open season on both Jesse and Walt to steal from.......I wonder what Jesse will do in the next episode, if he will in fact make an example of him.

I'm digging the secondary story-line involving Hank. Not really sure what he has feel guilty about. It was a clean kill when he put down Tuco. But for whatever reason, he is haunting him. Haunting him enough that he was to throw away Tuco's trophy (Grills-encased-plastic-cube) that the DEA Force gave to him as a gift.

Very cool to see Krysten Ritter joining the cast here. She obviously has since moved onto her own show Don't Trust The B **** In Apt. 23 (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/tv/don't-trust-the-b-****-in-apt-23-(season-1)/msg7738/#msg7738), so I can only guess what gruesome end she meets on Breaking Bad...........

I don't know how the writers are able to maintain such a high degree of stellar writing. In this one both Walt and Jesse have their own issues they are dealing with separately, each as good as the other. Walt has to lie his way out of Skyler finding out that Gretchen is not in fact paying for his treatment. Wasn't sure how he would pull this off, but he does...in a very convincing way too. This is another part of the show that has had me intrigued. They hinting at Walt and Gretchen having a relationship a long time ago back in Season 1 and now we get a little bit more of the puzzle. Not all of it, but enough to tell me that this will go a lot deeper in future episodes.

The other have of the episode was Jesse dealing with the 2 junkies that robbed one of his guys of the meth and cash. The wrinkle in this one is that there is a little kid involved as well as an ATM machine. I liked that Jesse had enough concern for the boy to try to shield him from what was going down. Also, I found it very humorous that Jesse was trying to wipe down any evidence of his fingerprints on the 'unbreakable' ATM Machine to suddenly having it spit out all the cash that was owed him....and then some. Genie in a bottle indeed!!! Haha.

The Walt / Jesse enterprise is now expanding, based on misinformation. Everyone around town now fears Jesse since they all "heard" that he crushed a man's skull with an ATM Machine for trying to steal from him. With Walt selling the idea to Jesse to take on the persona of "The Blowfish", he gets him to agree to get his slingers to start expanding themselves to hire foot soldiers. The City is theirs for the taking.

Not sure what to make of Hank's storyline. He is now working at his new promotion job and his first order of business is to deal with Tortuga (Danny Trejo) who is an informant for the DEA. Seeing his name attached to the show, I figured it would be a nice run for him. That didn't last long given the fact that somebody hacked his head off, stuck it on a turtle and released it out in the desert, only to have it blow up, taking out a handful of DEA agents. Totally caught me off guard.

In other news, Jesse for whatever reason has got game. Looks like they are creating something for him and Jane (Krysten Ritter). FYI, great opening to the episode with the Mariachi Band.

I was a nervous wreck watching this one. With Badger getting busted for selling meth, it becomes a "how long before he rolls and gives up Walt and Jesse in cutting a deal" scenario. First things first, get the man a lawyer. Enter Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). At first, I didn't like the idea of Odenkirk being cast in the role even though I've always liked him in other roles he has played. But then as the episode wore on, he was the perfect choice to portray the slimey attorney. Loved how Walt and Jesse were able to sidestep a potential disaster with Badger talking to the wrong 'Bald Guy' at the Bus Stop. The ending is where it gets really interesting when Saul shows up to Walt's School unannounced to offer his services of connections as his new silent partner. I wonder how long this is gonna last........

This episode was awesome and totally FUBAR. Pretty much the entire episode takes place in and around the RV / Meth Lab with Walt and Jesse out in the middle of the desert to cook for 4 days non-stop because Walt, based on wrong information is convinced that he will be dying soon. So, with both of them out there to cook, it's all down hill from there when their RV battery goes kaput with no way to get back home and no one to know where they are. It doesn't help matters when the cell phone meets the same fate. Intense and yet very funny episode with some great moments. I thought it was hilarious that after Jesse gives Walt a pep talk to create something to get them back home that Jesse literally thinks Walt is going to build a Robot. Hahahahahaha. With Walt getting the good news at the end of the last episode that he is in remission, he decides that he and Jesse should go their own ways, effectively ending their business relationship. So, what does one do now that you are no longer cooking? You start to remodel the house. Walt spends the whole episode looking for stuff to fix and once he is done with that one problem, it's onto the next one, always heading back to the Hardware store for whatever he needs to get the job done. It's the final trip there that finally wakes him up to what he should really be doing. When he sees a customer buying all the stuff you need to "cook" with, Walt takes it upon himself to school him in what he is doing wrong. But it's the final scene that makes this somewhat slow episode end with a bang when he confronts the other meth "team" that's encroaching on his turf. Looks like Walt we be coming back with a vengence.

Elsewhere, Skyler is playing a dangerous game but looking for something to happen with Ted, her boss. This is not going to end well for him...and her. The opening scene continues the arc that was started back in episode 1 of this season. Something big goes down at Walt's house. There are 2 bodies on the driveway, evidence that is being collection, etc....This arc obviously won't reveal itself till the Season Finale and they will continue to tease the viewer for the remaining episodes.

As soon as I saw Combo slinging on the corner I knew he wasn't going to even make it to the opening credits. I also knew that the kid on the bike was going to take him out. What's unclear is if he was dealt with because they were on someone else's turf of if this was nothing more than a gang initiation for the kid. I dunno. Jesse is scum. He has a hot girlfriend (Jane) that is into him and all he can do is think of himself and put her at risk to get high, who has been on the wagon for 16 months. I mentioned earlier that I could see her going out in a bad way. Now I'm convinced it will be an OD.

The ending was intense and shows just how crazy people can get when drugs and money are involved, especially when you have a million payout coming within the hour. All Walt has to do is get to the drop sight, unload his product and he will be sitting pretty financially. One little hiccup though. Skyler has gone into labor. This should make the next episode fun to watch.

A very heavy and very depressing episode. It's never easy to watch anyone, be it in real life or on a fictional TV show just throwing their lives away over getting high. Watching Jesse and Jane spinning out of control and going down the drain is sad to see. I've have always suspected that Walt looked at Jesse as more than just a partner, but more of a father/son relationship. So, when Walt somehow ends up in a bar, sitting next to Jane's father and they get to talking about how to raise kids, etc....it's then that Walt realizes that he has a deeper bond with Jesse than he even realized.

Walt is definitely between a Rock and a hard place when he finds Jane choking on her own vomit. Does he save her knowing that she is going to drag Jesse down further or does he let her OD and in a way save Jesse? It's no surpise that he chose to ignore her in the end. I do find it somewhat hypocritical for Walt to wag his finger at Jesse for getting high when it's his dope that he cooks that gets him strung out. Good episode, but still very depressing to sit through.

This episode is all about what goes down in the final 10 minutes. First off, Walt has is operation, so naturally he is doped up prior and lets slip that he has two cell phones. The look on Skyler's face said it all. She caught him red-handed. It's not till she is packing her bags after he returns from hospital 3 weeks later that we find out just how much digging Skyler did while he was recuperating. Point by point, she explains everything she did to uncover the lies that Walt has been telling her the whole time. There is just no getting around that Walt is up sh*t creek and no amount of begging or reasoning is going to convince her to stay.

Half way through the episode when they show Jane's father working as an Air-Traffic Controller, I realized what the flashback (or flashforward) scenes were with the Teddy Bear in the pool. I knew that with him morning Jane that he was going to f*ck up doing that whole-making-sure-the-planes-don't-crash thing. Sure enough, there is a huge explosion in the sky and debris is raining down....thus the Teddy Bear and everything else that would come from a plane.

Another stellar Season that constantly delivered from episode to episode. There wasn't one weak installment to be found anywhere. It's just be a fun ride seeing two unlikely business partners and how their relationship is evolving into a more paternal one. I highly recommend this as a Buy for sure and I will definitely be adding this to my own personal video library. Can't wait to check out Season 3 next.

Second episode is in the books. Ya know, Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring obviously gets all the acclaim as the ultimate villain on Breaking Bad. But you gotta give some love to Raymond Cruz as Tuco. He has always been someone who's career I have followed. He good in everything he's in. But I think as Tuco, he definitely left an indelible mark on Breaking Bad. He only appeared in 4 episodes and yet we all still talk about him. Now that's something not to take lightly.

Aww yeah, Jon Favreau directing, you got Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Edris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johannson as Kaa, and Bill Murray as Baloo.  Giancarlo is Akela, the alpha wolf of the pack that adopts Mowgli.

Just watched Better Call Saul. What a great f*cking episode. Who would have ever guessed that a "throw away" character like Saul Goodman would become a fan favorite in the series. Bob Odenkirk is great in everything and he was awesome here, but I had no illusions that the character would become as big as he got.

One thing I have found fascinating to watch during this marathon is just how inept and ill-equipped both Walt and Jesse are in trying to building their drug empire. It's one step forward and then 20 steps back. They are literally back to square one with the arrival of Saul Goodman, having to pay him off. It's a wonder they would ever make the amount of money they end up making given their lack of insight into the drug trade.

That's the fun of it!  I love that they were deep in it with nothing to show for it, they were in for a penny, in for a pound, but they didn't get to keep the penny.  And having them be hapless and constantly screwed over keeps us feeling for them.

I'm trying to keep it to a couple of episodes a day, but that's proving to be futile. I think I'm averaging 4 a day. I want this marathon to last....but at this rate it's gonna be completed in less than a month because I know as I get to the middle seasons, the average will probably jump to 6 per day. Ack!!

Hey, when you watch something that works, you don't switch programming!

Jesse: What are you building?

Walt: You said it yourself.

Jesse: A Robot?

Still a very hard episode to watch, seeing Jane choking on her own vomit with Walt just standing there. And so, he goes further and further into the rabbit hole......
