For a swashbuckling character like Zorro, there wasn't a whole lot of it throughout most of the movie. Compared to the first film, The Mask of Zorro (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/the-mask-of-zorro-(1998)/msg11857/#msg11857), this can be viewed as a failure. The Legend Of Zorro lacks the charm of the original and it does have a massive hole in the film without Anthony Hopkins in it. On the surface Legend does look incredible as it has the touch of Director Martin Campbell's prints on it. But the pacing of the film is lacking. It doesn't have the snap, crackle and pop from Mask. The final confrontation does pick up and it was fun watching it unfold. But once again, comparing that to what we got in the first movie, it pales in comparison.

The movie isn't bad at all. It just has the unfortunate situation of following a near perfect movie that came before it, which means it had a lot to live up to and just doesn't quite get there. This is definitely worth a Rent and if I were to come across this while channel surfing, I would most likely watch this again.
