Picking up right where they left off from the season ending cliffhanger of Season 12, the gang is in hot pursuit to rescue DB's granddaughter. This was a good, if a bit predictable episode. The only thing that really came as a shock was when Jack Gilmore (Craig Sheffer) gets popped inside the car with DB and Nick with their guns drawn on him. I thought it was another Pulp Fiction (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/pulp-fiction-(1994)/msg5580/#msg5580) moment.

It's painfully obvious right out of the gate who will be revealed to be the gunman of the Dinner. But in spit of this, I thought the episode was pretty good. Very entertaining and the path to get to the end wasn't a complete waste.

Now THAT was a riveting episode from start to finish. Pretty sick too. Even though the character was fictional, I felt very bad for the victim. I thought the scene with the victim and Finn packed an emotional wallop that you just don't see on CSI all that much and certainly not on most other shows.

Kinda cool episode that was basically anchored by the music of Frank Sinatra and the clue used to solve the case was a Vinyl pressing of a rare Sinatra album. I think the episode could have been a bit more deeper. They are asking the viewer to invest in Greg's connection with the victim. Had they set up some sort of relationship, at least in flashbacks, it would have resonated more.

CSI is 13 years old and I'm shocked that they are just now getting around to doing a episode focused on the K-9 Unit, or more specifically Sam The Dog, who is a witness to the murder of his Partner. The scenes with Sam were awesome. By the end of the episode I was telling myself they should make him a regular on the show. Well, they set it up that Nick would be taking Sam home and caring for him and living with him from here on out. Not sure if we will see a lot more of him though, other than when they show Nick at home.

When you see that Michael Gross is the guest star and has a tiny part at the beginning of the show and then disappears for the bulk of the episode, it's pretty obvious who the killer is gonna turn out to be. The only good twist here is who Charlie's girlfriend Vanessa turns out to be. I knew something was rotten in Denmark with her.

This episode had an energy to it that hasn't been around for a long time. With the story being anchored by Warrick Brown and his son, it just felt different. Brings back memories of when CSI use to be 'must-see TV'. It's also a reminder of how far off the cliff the series has gone since killing off Warrick [/b and the departure of Grissom, Sara (she left, but returned a year later) and Catherine. I miss those days and those characters in particular.

I like that they gave Finlay (Elisabeth Shue) something of an "origin" story when an old case resurfaces from a few years earlier that sends her racing to Seattle to track a Serial Killer. Very cool to see Brian Van Holt show up playing Fin's Ex-Husband. If they are going to take such a long time for Cougar Town to get back onto the airwaves, I'd like to see the entire cast of CT pop up on CSI. And interesting, but very odd episode. The Transvestite that thought he/she was pregnant and then decides to give himself/herself a C-Section was just..... bizarre. Never thought I'd see that on CSI, and then again, I'm surprised that it took 13 years to get there. Weird indeed.

The best part about this episode was seeing a couple of actors (Pamela Reed and Kenneth Mitchell) from the series Jericho, which I'm a huge fan of. As for the episode in general, it didn't capture my imagination at all. It's not till the last 10 minutes did it get good with the twist to the case. Elsewhere, it looks like they are setting something up where Sara is gonna cheat on a character that hasn't been seen for years on CSI. We shall see.

Interesting plot regarding the news anchor, her investigation and her producer. I immediately knew from the opening that the "weather" report was pre-recorded and that the Reporter would be prime suspect #1. Well, it turned out to be nothing more than a red herring. So everything that came afterwards wasn't what I thought it would be which made the episode better because I was in the dark. But the most interesting thing going on was Sara and her refusing to answer the phone when Grissom kept calling her. I'm not sure if that was William Petersen's voice on the phone. It kinda sounded like him and it kinda didn't. Anyway, either they are going to finally get these two a divorce or this is going to be a way for his return to the show to save his marriage. I'd like to see Option #2. But I know that's never gonna happen.

The writers sure went out of their way to paint an elaborate web of red herrings and back stories to try in vain to convince us that it was someone else other than the most obvious suspect. There was no getting around that the main suspect would be the Tennis Pro that loses the match at the beginning. Even with all the hoop jumping throughout, I knew that it would eventually came back to the Pro.

As has been the case lately for me, the most interesting story is not the case, but the private lives of the characters and in this one it's the revelation that Hodges is getting married to some Italian Super Model which was very surprising because I thought the writers were going somewhere with him and Morgan. They did leave it open at the end with some unresolved feelings for Morgan when he hugs her. So, not really sure what's going on with the whole marriage thing.

For a 2 Part Crossover episode, this one just felt off. The Crossover had Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) from CSI: NY in town to surprise his girlfriend Christine only to find out she is missing. You would think that this would be the A Story and take top priority. But it was the Wine Story that was carrying much of the episode, which itself was just okay. Anyway, Part 2 concludes this week over on CSI: NY with D.B. (Ted Danson) in tow. Let's hope they can finish off strong and make this a good one.

Average episode that was all that interesting. Not sure why, but I had the sister pegged as the killer from the very first scene. Maybe because I figured that she was the least likely to be suspected that I immediately went straight to her as the one. Anyway, the most interesting thing in the episode was Hodges and his impending 'Green Card Marriage'. They still haven't really explained why he is marry her. What's the big dark secret?

Certainly the best episode so far and definitely Top 5 in the last couple of years in large part because it felt like an episode from the prime years of the series and the fact that it centered around Sara Sidle and "Gil Grissom" made this one not to miss. I put Gil's name in quotes because it's only about him. He doesn't actually appear in this one. The episode saw the return of the Stalker from a few episodes back (the one where he kills the waitress at Frank's Diner). Anyway, he is setting up Sara to take the fall for another murder, discrediting her and eventually to shoot her in "self defense".

The big reveal is that Sara and Gil split up a while back, which makes the scene a few episodes back more relevant when she was refusing to answer a call from him. Overall, fantastic episode and one that finally gave us some resolution about the fate of their relationship. I knew that Hodges would be upset once he found out that Sara was "cheating" on Gil. Always the good soldier.

Interesting episode. Kind of surprised that it took this long to do an episode around cheating card players. The murders were elaborate, but ultimately not worth it because we don't really get to learn anything about the cheaters. Yeah, it had to be told in a certain way to keep the identity under wraps till the very end. David Cassidy was probably hoping for a big, meaty role. Instead, he gets offed during the cold opening. Henry Ian Cusick didn't have much of a big role either. I wish he would join the cast of Person of Interest. Now that would be awesome.

I never thought that they would actually have an entire episode basically be anchored by David, the medical examiner and have it be good. This was a very well done episode that had him going to his High School Reunion, discovering one of his classmates murdered and then trying to do what he can to solve the case, not because it was his job, but because he was trying to prove that his life meant something. It's those High School years that everyone seems to want to put behind them but never can. I did get one half of the equation right when trying to figure out who the killer was....kinda. I knew that the Lawyer chick was somehow involved, I just didn't suspect that there were two people involved and the scene of the crime wasn't exactly what it appears to be. Anyway, good episode for sure.

We we get to the underground bunker, I was half expecting to see Brendan Fraser, Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek. Ha. What we do get is Neal McDonough, who is good in everything he is in. I kinda knew that he would be the red herring in trying to figure out exactly who killed the kid. I did suspect his daughter. I was wrong. Solid episode none the less.

Okay, now I've seen everything. Never thought I'd see an episode where a mother decides to kill her grand kids and their mother just to save her own sons reputation when those 3 were going to come out about him molesting them.  Your own flesh and blood and you're gonna save the one that's guilty? That's just nuts. Sheesh! There was some levity to be found to lighten up such a dark episode. Loved Hodges and his "hatred" for the Black Widow, played by Amy Acker. It looks like she will have a recurring part because Hodges states that he will prove she's killed her last two boyfriends. And since he didn't prove anything by the end of the episode, that can only mean one thing....she is returning. Yay!!

The main case was okay. It wasn't bad, but it was predictable. Within' the first minute of the episode, I already had the "Tony Robbins" guy as the killer, long before they even revealed a body. So, that was kind of a bust. As always, it's the personal lives of the characters that I'm most drawn to and in this one it's about Hodges getting over his fear of marrying his girlfriend, the Italian Bombshell. Her in a Bikini. Yowzza!!

Pretty good "ghost" story. Even though I immediately knew right away who would turn out to be the killer (property manager), I didn't have a clue what his connection was to the crime scene from 20 years ago. How would I? I thought the ring tone was a good touch and in hindsight, I should have known that's where the "laughing kids" came from. So, are they setting something up in San Francisco for Sara, since she is being given a leave of absence to go and testify in court? Will this be where the bulk of the episode takes place or are they writing her character off the show....again?

The last thing I expected to see on CSI was Black Sabbath. Yes, THAT Black Sabbath, with Ozzy, Tony and Geezer in full force, tearing it up as they opened the episode. It was actually damn cool. There are a lot of guest stars in this one. Well, 'stars' that were once big and have since faded from the lime light. Eric Roberts, James Callis, Annabella Sciorra and Tim Matheson make up the bulk of this episode that follows closely with Se7en (http://pennycan.createaforum.com/dvd's-blu-rays/se7en-(1995)/msg13528/#msg13528) as a serial killer is on the loose. Pretty good cliffhanger as it all but guarantees that I will have to tune in next season to see the fate of Morgan.
