I'm about 3/4 of the way through this book. I was actually interested in this long before my current position, but it makes sense more than ever to go through it now. It has helped me immensely. Not only does it prove I'm not alone, but shows that @ssholes exists everywhere. The book not only helps recognizing all the different types, but contrasts that even more by what a good company and work environment is.

I get stomach aches, headaches, stress, tension, loss of sleep because of @ssholes. This happens rarely working with @ssholes, but when it does, you will know it immediately. The book helps me understand what I'm going through and how to handle these situations. And it recently pointed out something I'm doing... where I didn't know it. Indifference. I simply don't care, because if I did it would only bring on a whole host of other negative situations. I will make lemonade out this lemon situation. My main concern today believe it or not is not to become an @sshole myself. To take on those nasty characteristics.

I am stuck in my situation for a number of reasons, but I know I cannot continue for years on end. Life is too short. I've planted seeds, but in the meantime, I will do everything to make my life better.

The book can be dry but as the author says the term @sshole is by far the best description. It's universal. When someone says @sshole, everybody understands.

Sounds like an interesting read. I wonder if this book would help me and my aversion to Tech Support "Help" when they transfer me to the India or wherever Call Center. I lose patience within 30 seconds on the phone because they robots and don't even listen. Ugh, I'm already getting worked up over just thinking about this sh*t.......

That so far has not been in the book. I'm not sure I'd classify that scenario as '@ssholes'. But the book may help you recognize how to deal with scenario's.
