Caught this last night. Very entertaining, Electro- I was a little worried but the effects saved it, Gwen- played out great if you dont know will not spoil it. Green Goblin-more to come total set up for part 3. Rino- pretty lame but funny.
Spiderman- Garfield nails it as spiderman he brings the humor very well. Leary does well without any lines also.
This is as good as the Rami series if not better -blasphemy I know-. 700 million on a 250 million budget we are in for part 3.

Have they even starting with pre-production of Spidey III yet? Any information on casting yet? Villains?

I heard somewhere that the numbers and critical reviews of ASM2 were so bad that they actually stalled the plans. (there's an article about that on Indiewire about the trouble the franchise is facing (http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/with-rumors-of-a-delay-for-the-amazing-spider-man-3-is-sonys-biggest-franchise-in-trouble-20140613)). That sounds a little too pie in the sky to be true, but I haven't heard any new developments since. If it is, it presents a HUGE problem because of the plans Sony had for the franchise (of course, had they not been obsessive about that, than the movie would have worked as a story instead of introducing franchise-building elements all over the place.

Dont get me wrong this is just entrainment no one is winning an Oscar. They sell the tickets and make more. I dont see Venom in 3 lol.

You know who wants the Spidey franchise to tank? Marvel does! If Sony can no longer profit off the character, the rights to the character will revert back to Marvel Studios. That's why we will NEVER see a crossover in The Avengers movie. With that said, Sony will NEVER give up their cash cow, even if they started producing dreck.

Why Spider-Man is NOT Returning to Marvel Studios (http://screenrant.com/spider-man-sony-marvel-studios-rights/)
-
I do see Superhero overload at the big screen in the near future. That will mean a big loss for someone along the way.
-
Oh, it's going to be 30 movies in the next 4 years, just from the major studios. And that didn't include Incredibles 2, outside developments like Superior or Nemesis, maybe one or two indie superhero/genre flicks (like "Super," "Special," or "Chronicle"). Even if we drop a couple titles from flops or financial problems, it'll balance out in the late 20s-early 30s.
And that doesn't count the FOUR Marvel series coming to Netflix, and you can bet your butt that the other on-demand players like Amazon, XBox and Playstation will want in on that and develop their own series as well.
-
Don't forget the small screen shows like Arrow, The Flash and Gotham. I'm love Arrow and I'm super excited for Flash and Gotham. And there is of course Marvels Agents of SHIELD.
