There is absolutely nothing original about the plot that drives Nothing to Lose to it's conclusion. It falls in like with other similar type of films written and / or directed by Steve Oedekerk. This is a "Buddy" type of movie with mismatched personalities that end up together by fate and then go on a "crime spree". Like I said, far from original. But what makes this movie work for me is the casting of Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence. Who would have ever guessed that this pairing could deliver comedic gold? Whoever the casting agent was that came up with this is a genius. A very funny movie with memorable gags that never get tired. I've owned the DVD for years and still enjoy the flick. Definitely worth a Rent just to see these two work opposite of each other.

When I first saw the Trailer for this prior to another movie I was seeing in the theater, the reaction was fantastic. It got a huge response to it. I can't remember the movie, but I certainly remembered the Trailer. It was all we could talk about after exiting the theater. I always wished they would have done a sequel or at least have Tim and Martin do another comedy if not a direct sequel to Nothing To Lose. Oh well.....
