I was very worried about what I was going to get with American Reunion and after a sluggish start, it did eventually get better. Still not close to being a perfect movie, but when comparing it to the 1st and 3rd films, I will take what I can from this and just enjoy it. At least the writer was keeping this grounded in "reality" by having the kids in adult relationships, married and kids in tow. Sure, married life has set in and the gang is in a rut and decide that their High School Reunion would be the best place to recapture their "youth".

I think it's here where the movie fails because they try to use the same jokes and their isn't anything funny about "old" people trying to play the same character from 13 years ago or however long ago it was when the first film came out. And that's why Stifler for the most part is really embarrassing. He hasn't grown up. He is still the same douche from High School. With that said, they do give him his "redemption" scene and throw in a nice twist that actually was very fitting. Having him bang Finch's Mom was karma for finch doing the same to Stifler's Mom. Having Finch's mom played by Rebecca De Mornay was the icing on the cake.

I have to address the "reunion" here. It's billed as one, but for the majority of the entire movie, it's really just the 4 guys with Chris Klein back. Sure, Tara Reid and Mena Suvari return after going AWOL in the 3rd film, but their roles were so minimal in this one I have to ask the question, "why bother showing up"? It's not till the actuall High School Reunion does it really come together as what it's billed. With just the dudes, I was pleasantly surprised to see Natasha Lyonne, Chris Owen and Shannon Elizabeth. But even their parts were nothing more than cameos. How little did Tara and Mena have in this one? Let me put it to you this way, John Cho as M I L F  Guy #2 had way more screen time then both of them combined.

Overall, it was a fun flick. Be sure to stick with the end credits for Jim's Dad and Stifler's Mom on a movie date. Very funny. This is worth a Rent.

No interest in seeing any of these, though I am curious if Shannon was still a looker, if everyone's acting like they were 13 years ago in a desperate attempt to recapture their success, well...  I really have a one-track mind.

BTW, I still can't believe that Biggs is Leonardo in Ninja Turtles now.

Shannon is still HOT, but the role of Nadia is kind of weak. I can understand why she chose not to come back in Part 3. It's not a challenging role. My guess is that they offered her a lot of money for what is essentially a walk on role in this one.

FYI, American Pie 5 has been announced. Yup.....more pie. They even set it up at the end of Reunion, leaving it open for them to come back. But what are they going to do now? Open up a......Pie Shop as they go into business together. Hey, that could work! I'm writing it right now...........

Has Shannon even BEEN in anything else lately?  What happened?

Here's my thought, if Biggs and Wife open a pie shop, I can totally see Shannon popping out of a big pie like a classic stripper, big fake red cherry on her head, etc.  That's her cameo.

The last movie I saw her in (before Reunion of course) was Jay and Silent Bob. Other than that, I'd see her pop up on Poker shows from time to time. Acting-wise, she's been laying dormant....or choosing bad projects that don't get any kind of publicity.

Jay And Silent Bob (the only other thing I could think of either) was 2001.  2000 freakin' 1!  Though she was cute in that.

I do remember she did an episode of the short-lived "Thank God You're Here" and she was a stripper in "Dish Dogs" but other than that, yeah, just dropped off the face of the Earth.

Totally forgettable and throw away, but saying that, I do remember enjoying it mostly and not hating them. These are your updated versions of Porky's. Every generation should have them.

I can only imagine what the next generation will be like. All the jokes and dialog will be facebook, twitter or Siri

Nailed it. I'm actually surprised that Reunion didn't touch upon those ideas given how the movie is only a year old.

I was being sarcastic. I would think those kinds of things would not only date the movie, it would bring it to a screeching halt. It was probably a very wise move not to include that.

I think Rotary Phones are 'cutting edge' and still work in the movies I watch. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i266/Chiprocks1/Smilies/0%20All%20Smilies/HTL_biggrin.gif)

Now remember, that comedy was focused on making fun of cell phones (aka facebook, etc) but no comedy in using them.

Right after that Mel Gibson makes a prank call to Pesci's phone, "hello, private investigator, yes, I'd like to hire you to investigate my privates."  "Oh that's very funny Riggs, you know that costs me a buck each first minute!"
