I know most people just don't like Shallow Hal, but personally, I think it's great and is definitely a very underrated movie. I think most people that don't like it are somewhat biased in that it's not your the typical "Farrelly Brothers" production. This one actually has something to say and yes, maybe the gross out factor for cheap laughs isn't there as in previous movies of theirs. This is one of the things that I actually like about the movie. Shallow Hal does have some good laughs, but it' isn't cheap and doesn't go for the lowest common denominator. I think the movie as a whole, sends a very good and positive message. You can't watch this and not come away from it without it opening your eyes somewhat.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black are fantastic. I'd like to see them do another movie together at some time in the future. Add Jason Alexander to the mix and that would be awesome. This is definitely worth a Rent. I never turn the movie off when I come across it channel surfing. Always gotta watch it to the end. Lately, I haven't been able to find it on TV and decided to bust out the DVD. Don't listen to the naysayers out there. If you haven't given the movie a chance because of that, you really are missing out on a good movie.

I love this flick too. Just every scene has something to offer. Great cast, excellent story line. I actually do get a tear welling up with the burn victim scene. Excellent, excellent concept on shallowness. I don’t own it, but will stop to watch it every time.

Hal: Jesus Christ! What the hell's wrong with this chair? What's this **** made out of, anyway?
Restaurant Manager: Uhh... Steel.

PS: Jason Alexander just added so much punch to pegging the goof crap-o-meter.

I actually do get a tear welling up with the burn victim scene.

Most heartwarming scene in the entire movie if ya ask me.
