Up until a few weeks ago, I didn't even know about Unstoppable at all. I don't recall seeing any commercials or promotions of any kind when this came out a few years ago. If it wasn't for one the more recent DVDs I watched and seeing the Trailer on it, I may have never seen, let alone know of its existence. I was immediately intrigued by the trailer and with both Denzel Washington and Tony Scott's name attached to this one, of course I wanted to see this.

Right off the bat, you absolutely can see Tony's fingerprints all over this one. The editing, aesthetics and visual style mark this one as one of his 'classic' films before he did a 180 and went into the more experimental style. Even though the movie came out in 2010, it definitely feels like it could have come out in the mid 90's, right along with some of Tony's other movies that share similar traits. As for the movie itself, I really liked it, in spite of knowing that there would be a 'series of failed attempts to stop the runaway train, only to save the day at the last second'. It was still a great ride (pun intended), even if you know what's coming your way. Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson were also great. Highly recommend this as a Rent if you're an adrenaline junkie.

P.S.
Watching this movie made me miss Tony Scott even more. Reminded me that he was a great film director and sadly wasn't as appreciated as much as his brother Ridley, which is a shame. Both are different filmmakers, but each truly an original in the style they developed and honed.

Really enjoyed this flick.

Watch the extras... I was amazed how most of it was practical effects. Very little, if any CGI.
