I can't believe it has taken me this long to finally get around to watching Monster from start to finish. Sure, I have stumbled across the movie at various times while channel surfing, but with my personality being that I have to watch any movie from the very beginning, I just won't be able to commit to the film and will eventually just keep channel surfing. So, with just a handful of scenes, I was coming at this movie with just the knowledge of Charlize Theron amazing performance. And let me tell you, her transformation into Aileen Wuornos is a revelation. Her performance gave me chills. It's beyond amazing, it's literally changing into an entirely different person. I still can't believe that it's actually Charlize. Christina Ricci was good in this as well, but this movie begins and ends with Theron. Is this best performance ever by any actress or actor in the history of the craft? I dunno. But I would definitely rank it in the Top 3 of all-time. There's no denying that she earned the Best Actress Oscar. She is so good in Monster that my perception of her will definitely change. I've always been a fan of hers, but I'm gonna find it very hard to look at her from here on out and not think of her as Aileen.

To any and all actors and actresses out there, this is master course that should be studied and dissected. I highly recommend this as a Rent. The story itself is very compelling and there was one thing that really struck me as odd. Going into the movie, I knew of the real Aileen and didn't have any sympathy for her whatsoever. But Charlize was able to get me to feel bad for her, especially after her first ****. He had it coming and deserved what he got. Go check out the movie. 5 Stars out of 5.

You know what, now that I'm about to wrap up this review I need to correct myself on something. Greatest. Performance. Ever. I was trying to think of another performance off the top of my head that would rank in the same league as Charlize and I couldn't think of one. Theron for the win.

I can't think of this movie now without thinking of the Arrested Development bit.

I have not seen this.

The movie or her turn on Arrested Development? Either way, both roles are great.
