Blood & Chrome is set during the First Cylon War, which takes place between the shows Caprica and Battlestar Galactica and the end of which was depicted in the 2007 webisode series, Razor Flashbacks. The main character will be William Adama, and one other character from Razor Flashbacks will also be featured. The rest of the characters will be new.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, a sentient robotic race, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a brash rookie viper pilot enters the fray. Ensign William Adama, barely in his 20s and a recent Academy graduate, finds himself assigned to the newest battlestar in the Colonial fleet… the Galactica. The talented but hot-headed risk-taker soon finds himself leading a dangerous top secret mission that, if successful, will turn the tide of the decade long war in favor of the desperate fleet.

I sure hope this has a better fate then that of Caprica, which was too slow for my taste. More action would have saved the show. Production for Blood & Chrome began on February 10, 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Added Teaser

It looks frakking awesome! This is sick! And now for the news that completely mind boggling:

Quote
On March 21, 2012, Deadline.com confirmed that Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome would not move forward in TV format but was still regarded as a candidate for a digital series.

I have no idea why this isn't moving forward as a series on Syfy. What the  f u c k  is wrong with these people?!

I often scratch my head when it comes to the SyFy channel.

While it appears to have something going on, I'm not a big fan of the rapid fie trailer.

The trailer wasn't/isn't official. It was leaked by someone from within and was quickly pulled. This one is sure to follow next.

Machinma Prime is the one that will be hosting the episodes and guess what....the first 3 episodes have already been posted. I wasn't subscribed to Prime, so I didn't even know that Blood and Chrome was up and running. Each episode is around 12 minutes long and once Season 1 has run its course, they will be releasing all of Season 1 as a complete movie. Beyond that, I don't have a clue if the series is going to continue. Going to go and watch Episode 1 now and see if it's worthy of the name and legacy that is Battlestar Galatica.

Episode 1

So, I just watched Episode 1 and I actually thought it was good. It's a throwback to the original 70's series when it comes the aircraft employed by the Galatica crew and the Cylons. The actor playing Young William Adama is pretty good. The best thing I came from watching this is that it makes me want to bust out the Reboot Series. Now for the bad. It's way too short. I don't know how many episodes they release per week, but I can't see myself wanting to put myself through waiting a whole week just to get a 12 minute episode. So, I am going to just wait till all the episodes are up for viewing. Or I just may go ahead and pick up the DVD as it does look like a nice addition to my Battlestar Galatica DVD Set. FYI, the Special FX look great.
