I finally have my hands on Lincoln as of yesterday and as far back as 2 years ago, I always knew that when I got my copy that I would have a 2 night Civil War Marathon starting with Glory. It's been a long time coming, but it's nice to finally get this one in the books. I remember when I first heard this movie was coming out, I really didn't think that Matthew Broderick was the right way to go. I mean how could anyone really think he would be. This is after all....'Ferris Bueller'! Broderick definitely did the role justice and I think he doesn't get enough credit for what he brought to the film. But then again, it's only natural that his performance would be overshadowed by his co-stars, the powerhouse trio consisting of Denzel Washington, Andre Braugher and Morgan Freeman. Each one was fantatic, but this is Denzel's moment to shine. This is definitely a movie to check out, especially if you are a history buff like I am.

How long has it been since I last saw this? Long enough to have totally forgotten that Bob Gunton was in this. Even though he and Freeman don't have any scenes together in this one, it was 'Shawshank Redemption' moment. Jihmi Kennedy and Cary Elwes also make this a good enough reason to check out. Fantastic direction from Edward Zwick.
