After the epic Season 2, Justified has had a lot riding on whether they could sustain the series and they have done a bang up job, first with the Third season and now with the Fourth Season as well. The main arc pushing this season is the manhunt for Drew Thompson, a 30 year old cold case that suddenly becomes THE case to solve. Drew is basically a D. B. Cooper-like character that "landed" in Harlen with a bag full of coke and money and went into hiding. I won't say anything here so as not to spoil it if you haven't seen this season yet, but I will tell you that it ties into a character from last season and it's a whopper. I also love that another arc that drives this season centers around Ellen May (Abby Miller) who had a very minor role in Season 3. Her character was practically a throw-away character, but Abby is so good in her expanded role that you just absolutely feel for her and want to see her come out a winner.
Overall, this season was fantastic and keeps the streak alive of knocking out another stellar story line. The cliffhanger for this one isn't edge of your seat, but it does leave you wanting to see how Ava and Boyd are going to get out of this one. Ron Eldard was a great addition to the cast, as was Mike O'Malley and Patton Oswalt who was awesome in the few episodes he appears in. I highly recommend this as a Rent.
