You may not recognized the name Barry Levine, but you ABSOLUTELY know his photography. There is no way anyone that lived through the 70's during the height of KISSMANIA would not have seen his stuff. Think of all the iconic KISS images from that era, whether it was on lunchboxes, posters, radios, Tour-books, etc....That's his stuff and in The KISS Years, the book showcases all those images and more. I think the book can be enjoyed by any casual reader because the images are striking and is just damn cool to look at. There is very little text to be found within the book itself. Other than information pertinent to the photo shoot at hand, it's really just a feast for the eyes. Definitely worth checking out from the Library and definitely a must-Buy for any KISS fan. If there is any criticism about the book, the layout on a couple of pages could and should have been spot checked as some of the most engaging parts of the image is lost in the binding. Not cool. The other thing about the book is that it should have gotten a Hardcover Edition. The softcover Edition doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the book. It's just that I like my books that I never intend to get rid of to be Hardcovers for added protection over the years.
